Who Are You And Why Are You
Revealing This Information?
My name is Tiphanny and I’m the
production manager for M
Entertainment Agency Indy the only
all inclusive entertainment agency in
the midwest. For the past 15 years
we have produced educational
programs for charter schools, school
corporation and educational
conferences throughout the midwest.
We’re revealing the information for
two main reasons:
REASON #1: If you end up hiring a
lousy entertainer or speaker for Black
History Month, this closes the field
not only to our company but other
competent companies and
professionals. Odds are, if the person
you hire stinks, you’ll be very
reluctant to hire a similar type of
performer in the future.
REASON #2: WE HATE to see bad
Black History performers rip schools
and organizations off and make event
planners look bad. It puts a black eye
on our profession.
Okay, now that you know who we are
and why we’re doing this, let’s talk
about the
3 easy to Implement ideas for
Black History Month School
Assembly Indianapolis Indiana
Program.

RUBY NELL BRIDGES HALL
Taking a photo op with the principle, staff and students of
Snacks Elementary School (Indianapolis Indiana).
Ruby Bridges was the first black child to attend an all white
elementary school in Louisiana during the 20th century. She
attended William Fratz Elementary school.
The principle, staff and students where incorporated in this 90
minute program where she used them to re-enact her
experience as a child.
3. Easy To Implement Idea #1:
Read And Discuss Black History
Literature
Have students read and discuss
black literature by exploring different
genres including: fiction, non- fiction,
speeches, poetry, plays, spoken word
and short stories is a great way to get
students to read and implement a
little bit of social studies curriculum.
Have each class rein act the their
favorite character from a book that
inspired them. Many schools that we
have had the pleasure of working
with use this Idea especially if their
budget and time is limited.
Easy To Implement Idea #2:
Out-The-Box School Assembly
Program
If your looking to go more
traditional with a Black History
Month School Assembly
Indianapolis Indiana make sure it is
out-the-box and not like the
traditional speech and maybe a song
and slide show.
The student of this 21st century
needs something out-the-box,
entertaining and very fast pace if they
are to be stimulated. School
assemblies that implement VAK
(visual, audio, kin-aesthetic)
learning always do better then any
other type of assembly.
Easy To Implement Idea #3:
Hire a Relevant African American
Speaker
This is a BIGGIE! What we have
found in our 15 year experience,
many schools and organizations
may hire a speaker for their Black
History month event but the
students cannot relate to the
subject matter.
Case & Point:
If you hire an African American
athlete to speak to your students only
the athletes and aspired athletes will
be able to fully relate to your speaker.
On the other hand, We had the
pleasure of getting Ruby Bridges (the
first African American Women To
Integrate in a southern school) to
speak at Snacks Crossing
elementary. Everyone present was
able to relate to her story. So it is
very important to keep this in mind
before using the speaker budget.
Well, there you have it. Obviously, if
you’re a seasoned Black History
Month coordinator you may have
already known some of the Ideas
revealed in this report. But I hope you
found a few gems that you can use to
ensure that your next Black History
Month event turns out exactly as you
want it so you get the applause,
accolades, and acknowledgement
that you so richly deserve.
