Social studies definition
Social studies definition Social studies is most commonly recognized as the name of a course or set of courses taught in primary and secondary schools, but may also refer to the study of particular aspects of human society. At the elementary school level, social studies generally focuses first on the local community and family(Ex Ecuador). In high school, the social studies becomes more discipline based on specific content. It includes various fields which involve past and current human behavior and interactions, such as sociology, history, political science, economics, religion, geography, psychology, anthropology, and civics(World Civilizations).
Whyis Social StudiesImportant?
Whyis Social StudiesImportant? The major point of social studies, is to get you to see the other side of diffrent cultures and other peoples way of life. The best way to become more externally aware (socially aware or humanity) is to learn about other people in other situations whether they are living in modern times, 100 years ago, or in another country.
