2. Now lets talk about the second
type of cellular transport:
Active Transport
Active Transport is the movement of materials
through transport proteins from an area of low
concentration to an area of high concentration.
This movement of materials doesn’t happen naturally
it requires energy. The type of energy that is used to
transport materials during active transport is ATP
3. Passive Transport vs. Active
Transport
The diagrams to
the left show the
difference
between cellular
transport
through Passive
and Active
Transport
5. What is Endocytosis?
Endocytosis is the process of taking substances into a
cell by surrounding it with the cell membrane.
Endocytosis is shown below.
6. What about Exocytosis?
Exocytosis is the opposite of endocytosis. During
exocytosis vesicles containing materials fuse with the
cell membrane and release materials outside of the
cell.
7. What about Exocytosis?
Exocytosis is the opposite of endocytosis. During
exocytosis vesicles containing materials fuse with the
cell membrane and release materials outside of the
cell.
