Pantomime Scene Outline - Pairs
1. Pantomime Scene Outline
Actorโs Name: Renee Bailey Class: 11Y
Complete the following worksheet to outline your pantomime scene.
Title of the scene: (original, witty title) Death On Skid Row
Setting: (describe the time, location, and any other pertinent information) Itโs one late
evening in Skid Row, dawn is about to break and the two characters are in a
graveyard. But not everybody there is dead..
Characters: (Give a brief description of the character type)
Character A
Sheldon - Sheldon is the ultimate nerd. He is 15years old and only has one friend. He
constantly wears a tie, which appears to strangle his throat and trousers which he
wrenches high up. He gets bullied at school but his esteem will not fall! His a real
mummyโs boy and thinks he is a real stud (not quite)
What does character A want in the scene and is there anything preventing
him/her from achieving this?:
Sheldon (Character A) is just trying to bury the body and get away from there before
someone sees him but the unwanted cooperation from the cool girl and the rising dead
could be a potential problem.
Character B (Give a brief description of the character type)
Stacy โ Stacy is your typical cool kid who is head of the cheerleading squad and
doesnโt care about anyone else but herself. She is one of the most popular girls in
school, and youโd have never guessed, dates the most popular boy in school. Sheโs an
airhead bully who you probably wouldnโt want to get on the wrong side of.
What does Character B want in the scene and is there anything preventing
him/her from achieving this?:
Stacy (Character B) is too just trying to bury the body and get away before anyone
saw, but not because of the reason youโd think. Sheโs more worried that she will be
seen with this โnerdโ and that it will ruin her reputation and she is absolutely horrified
by the fact that this had to happen with him!
2. Scene Plot Outline:
Explain in detail the elements in your story and how you will play this through
pantomime.
Introduction
Before the lights go up, you hear the sound of a dark evening where owls are hooting
and the atmosphere is very eerie which has the audience thrilled yet frightened. Then
the lights go up and you see the two of us digging.
Inciting Action:
We begin to dig in unison and the tension begins to build as the audience question
what we are digging for and the whole purpose.
Conflict:
We both are looking round and hoping that nobody can see us, but is there somebody
lurking in the distance?
Rising Action:
After we have done some digging, we go around the hole and pick up the body and
swing it in to the whole. Then we go back to digging to fill up the hole again until it is
level with the ground. We slightly pat it down with our feet and then in tiredness and
relief, we wipe our foreheads and slap hands as if a weight has been lifted off of our
shoulders. Little did we know we were wrong!
Climax
After an exhausting afternoon, we get ready to leave and leave that behind us but
thatโs not quite what the body had in mind. As we are about to leave, we hear a
croaking noise and we realise it is coming from under the ground. We look at each
other and tell each other to check.
Resolution
Eventually, Stacy checks and as she goes to check, Sheldon runs away in fright. When
Stacy checks, she sees that the body has risen and goes to run. She leaves her shoe,
runs back for it, hits the body with it and then makes a run for it.
Characters:
- Sheldon: Me
- Stacy: Alberta
