2. When I first started the production of my product, I’d have a little
bit of experience with Photoshop so I had some of the basic
knowledge, however not enough to be able to produce a magazine
product so in the beginning I learnt a lot, especially since I had
chance during the preliminary task to experiment with some of the
tools and how they worked which helped allow me to create an
effective and attractive final product when the time came to
produce it.
INTRODUCTION TO
PHOTOSHOP
3. USING PHOTOSHOP
Some of the tools I had to get to grips with were:
The ‘Move Tool’ which was used to
move my selected layers/images around
the page into the suitable positions
The ‘Zoom Tool’ which I used when I
wanted to carefully cut around an image
so I could be accurate.
The ‘Crop Tool’ which I used to remove
unwanted parts of the image around the
edge.

4. USING PHOTOSHOP
Some of the tools I had to get to grips with were:
The ‘Eraser’ which was used to erase parts of an image
and the ‘Magic eraser’ which was used to erase
backgrounds of solid colours etc in one go.
The ‘Polygonal Lasso Tool’ which I used
to cut around an image and remove it
from its background.
The ‘Paint Bucket Tool’ which I used to
fill in things such as my plugs/feature
story boxes etc. with colour.
5. USING PHOTOSHOP
Some of the tools I had to get to grips with were:
The ‘Elliptical and Rectangular Marquee Tool’ which
used to create the shapes for my plugs, feature story
boxes etc.
The ‘Spot Healing Brush tool’ which I
used to remove spots from the people in
my images to make the image look
‘smoother’
I also used ‘Levels’ as this helps to
emphasise the highlights and lowlights
of an image and then find the right
contrast via a histogram. BEFORE AFTER
6. CAMERA
The camera I used to take the majority of my images was a Nikon D3100
as the quality of the images taken from my camera was at the quality I
would have liked to appear on my product. Some of its specifications
were:
Digital SLR
ISO sensitivity from 100-3200
8 different white balance modes to take images within various
different light settings,
7. BLOGGER
Blogger is a great online presentation tool as it allows posts to be posted at
anytime, edited whenever something needs changing and all of these posts can
be viewed by people who don’t own an account. It’s also a great too as you can
store all of your work online so if your computer breaks or your memory stick
gets lost etc you always have your work backed up which can be saved as a draft
if you weren’t ready to finalise your post. As well as this, you can upload
presentations from various different sites such as prezi and slideshare etc.
without having to post an external link and these presentations can be viewed
there and then. I have learned various different technological skills from using
different websites to create several presentations.
