This document provides new students with an overview of the online learning experience at American InterContinental University, outlining the various resources and tools available through the classroom homepage, library, learning center, and student services. Classroom Home Page Lists upcoming assignments Shows late or missing assignments Includes announcements from the instructor This page should be checked frequently for updates and possible changes to the assignment schedule, or any other discrepancies that may arise. Valuable information about what is due can be found here.

Classroom Homepage Cont’d Located on the left side of the classroom homepage is a list containing important features of online learning Among these features are the live chat: this is a weekly seminar that allows for time to interact with classmates and the instructor about the assignments and studies Course materials can be found here: these are the materials that may be needed during the session The discussion board is also located in this area. The discussion board is where a topic is discussed through posts that individual students write. Responses to other students’ posts are a must and can be done here.
4. Classroom Homepage Cont’d Syllabus: outlines the course expectations and requirements, offers insight into the instructor’s policies for the class Submit assignments: this is where all assignments can be uploaded for a grade Bookshelf: all e-books used throughout a student’s time learning at AIU Online can be found here Originality Verification: this feature allows a student to upload a document to ensure that it is not plagarized- very helpful when uncertain
5. THE LIBRARY The library provides access to articles, books, and web sites carefully selected for individual use. The library also offers research guides and tutorials, APA resources, and classes to help students learn to use the library for research, as well as a staff of professional librarians to assist students. Career resources is a feature of the library that helps students find jobs.

7. Accounts and Financial Aid The financial aid tab show pending documents, documents needed by the financial aid department, and documents that have been reviewed and approved. This area also allows students to keep up with important financial aid information The accounts tab allows students to view their account, make payments, see documents, and many other things to make keeping up with finances related to college easy.
8. Career Services and Support Career services helps students work on resumes and helps give students the resources necessary to be successful in the career world. Support has the FAQ area. Students can search for help, and can also create a contacts list as different connections are made during the course of study.
9. VIRTUAL COMMONS MY NETWORK. MY PROFILE. CLUBS TO JOIN. EVENTS THAT ARE HAPPENING. SHOPPING. BIRTHDAY REMINDERS SEARCH FOR FRIENDS The virtual commons is an area where students can keep up with things going on in the virtual college world. By creating a profile, students can share information about their lives and studies. Different clubs are available for participation, and events for the clubs are listed on the page.
10. OTHER RESOURCES OF COMMUNICATION E MAIL Email has become an extremely common means of communication. Students can communicate with each other via email. Emailing another student is simple. Just click on the class roster located on the left side of the classroom home page. This will bring up a list of students in the class. Click on the name of the person the email is intended for, and type away! *Each student has access to his/her individual email through school. Check this email box daily if possible to make sure something important is able to be handled in a timely manner
