BBC- British Broadcasting Corporation Largest broadcaster in the world First National Broadcasting organisation  Founded in 1922  First transmission from London 14th November 1922  The BBC’s mission, ‘to enrich people’s lives with programmes and services that inform, educate and entertain.  The BBC’s Vision, ‘to be the most creative organisation in the world’. The BBC’s Values- Trust is the foundation of the BBC: we are independent, impartial and honest  Audiences are at the heart of everything we do  We take pride in delivering quality and value for money. Creativity is the lifeblood of our organisation.  We respect each other and celebrate our diversity so that everyone can give their best. We are one BBC: great things happen when we work together
Six public purposes and how they will be delivered-  Sustaining citizenship and civil society  The BBC provides high-quality news, current affairs and factual programming to engage  its viewers, listeners  and users in important  current and political  issues. ,[object Object],Stimulating creativity and cultural excellence  Encouraging interest, engagement and participation in cultural, creative and sporting activities across the UK. Representing the UK, its nations, regions and communities  BBC viewers, listeners and users can rely on the BBC  to reflect the many  communities that  exist in the UK. Bringing the UK to the world and the world to the UK  The BBC will build a global understanding of international issues and broaden UK audiences' experience of different cultures. Delivering to the public the benefit of emerging communications technologies and services  Assisting UK residents to get the best out of emerging media technologies now and in the future.
BBC TV Channels- BBC One- The flag ship TV channel offering a wide range of popular programmes across a range of genres.  BBC Two- A mixed genre channel appealing to a broader adult audience with programs with depth and substance.  BBC Three- The channel that is constantly innovating and experimenting to provoke thought and  to entertain audiences from 16 years to 30. Includes Drama, Factual and comedy programming.  BBC Four- The primary role is to reflect a range of UK and international arts, music and culture.  CBBC- Children’s programming. CBeebies- Children’s programming for under 6. BBC News- 24hour news service. BBC Parliament- UK’s only channel dedicated to politics. BBC HD- Includes all types of programming from the other BBC channels in High Definition. BBC Alba- Mixture of genres for Gaelic audiences in Scotland
BBC Three The channel is available on Digital Freeview, Virgin Media and Sky Digital TV Channel on-air from 19:00 to around 04:00 each night Target Audience 16-30 year olds.   Targets the younger generation with programming and airs many real life documentaries.  80% original programming including all genres.  The channel that is constantly innovating and experimenting to provoke thought and to entertain audiences from 16 years to 30. Includes Drama, Factual and comedy programming. BBC Radio 1  Radio 1 is a British national radio station. Radio 1 broadcasts a distinctive mix of new music and entertainment for 19-29 year olds as well as providing tailored news, documentaries and advice campaigns for young adults.
