2. The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) is a public broadcast in the
United Kingdom that got made during 1922. The BBC was named as a
radio broadcasting station, and it began regular transmissions on
November 14, 1922.
The BBC's first director was John Reith, who overlooked the
development of the corporation's public service. Reith believed that
the BBC had a mission to inform, educate, and entertain the public of
the UK, and he worked to establish the corporation as a trusted source
of news and information for the public
3. In the period of WW-II, The BBC had an important role of making sure to keep consistently informing the public and
increasing the smiles (happy / morale). Furthermore, The Corporation Broadcast News, Propaganda and Entertainment to
both the UK, The Allies and its Broadcasts were consistently listened to by people in occupied countries
In the post-war period, the BBC continued to further develop and expand its services. BBC began broadcasting television
programs in 1936, and it launched its first foreign-language service (Arabic) in 1938. The corporation also began to produce its
own programs, including dramas, documentaries, and comedies.
4. In the following 1960s and 1970s there was a time of increasing change
for the BBC. The BBC faced increasing competition from
advertisements / commercial broadcasting. Furthermore, they
responded by adding new services such as BBC Two that was focused on
a more Highbrow Programming and BBC Radio 1 was aimed at a younger
audience (younger listeners)
In the 1980s and 1990s, the BBC faced criticism from some quarters for
being too "left-wing" and politically biased. The corporation responded
by introducing new guidelines to ensure "impartiality" (equal treatment
of all rivals) in its news reporting.
5. Now Today, The BBC is one of the world's biggest and largest broadcasters, that also
provided services such as Television, radio and online produced content. The whole of it
is funded by a license fee paid by UK households who watch live TV or use the BBCs
iplayer catch up services
