  12. People often make decisions about brands based on how they view themselves. For example you want to feel clean = you buy products that emphasize clean as their strongest attribute. If you believe you are fast, sleek, attractive = buy a car that is fast, sleek and attractive. If you feel you are of superior quality = you buy a shoe that is of superior quality. That means people buy what they internalize themselves to be what they aspire to be. People view you as a product and select you based on how you make them feel about themselves o r how you help them achieve what they aspire to become. The success of your personal brand is dependant on how your brand actually helps others. Building your personal brand is about building value for yourself and the people around you. People often say “ I feel like a million bucks today!” what they really are saying is that I feel great about my personal brand.

This outlook shapes your reputation and establishes the foundation for the word of mouth buzz that is generated for your personal brand Example, I am a solid leader capable of influencing others and delivering positive reults. People don’t need to know where you are at all times 4-  Take pride in who you are and what your brand represents. Represent your parents, your hometown, your school and your team 5-  Don’t post selfies as your profile photos 6-  Keep personal stuff off social media 7-  Sense of humor is ok. But don’t make fun of people, other religious views or other political parties. Don’t make fun of people with disabilities or for being over weight 8-  Don’t be fooled by the allure of security if you are using social media from the comfort of your home. Once you send a post out the world has access to your thoughts 9-  Keep the romantic drama away from social media Use social media for your advantage. Follow people who inspire you, tag them in posts quoting them to grab their attention, make sure your followers are people who are there to support you.
