Course Objective:
Entrepreneurship plays a premium role in Industrial Development.
Entrepreneurial development is the key to economic development of a
country. With the prevalence of liberalization, privatization and globalization,
many small entrepreneurs are venturing to take up the new projects to earn
their livelihood and provide employment to the needy people. When we have
to start with a new project we have to analyze various aspects such as Finance,
Market, Technical, Social etc. to check the feasibility of that particular
project. In This course students will basically learn analysis of these various
aspects and how the project reports are prepared.
The key guidelines to project planning, analysis, financing, and selection are:
• Develop a strategy that leads to sustainable competitive advantage.
• Sharpen the ability of the firm to identify promising investment
opportunities.
• Formulate the project, taking into account the interrelationships among
variable aspects.
• Establish a hurdle rate that is consistent with the risk exposure of the
project.
• Calculate the net present value of the project.
• Value the options embedded in the project.
• Blend judgment with analytical reasoning.
Assignment 1: Based on Porter’s Model. Objective is Practical application of
the concept.
Assignment 2: Based on Demand Forecasting. Objective is Practical
application of the concept.
2. Assignment 3: Project Schedule and Resource Planning. Objective is students
will learn calculation regarding this concept.
Assignment 4: Project Planning and Control. This assignment is based on the
full course where the students will use their knowledge about the course and
their own personal judgments to answer the various questions.
MSE’s: 15 Marks
Presentation: 5 Marks
Hourly Test: 10 Marks (2). Every test will have equal weight.
