26. General rules for typing
research report
1. All copies of the report must be legible-distinct and clear.
2. Strike over should not be made
3. All errors should be corrected by erasing neatly on all copies.
4. Material should be typed on one side of the paper only.
5. One and a half inch margins on the top and left hand side of the
paper and one inch margin on the right hand side and at the
bottom should be left.
6. All textual material should be double spaces.
7. Ditto marks should not be used.
8. The pages of the main body of the report are marked in Arabic
numerals on the right hand corner.
9. The pages of the preliminary section are marked in small Roman
letters.
27. Guidelines for preparing a research
report.
1. The research report should be written clearly so that the
reader may not have any document difficulty in
understanding its content.
2. The report should be written in past tense and not in present
tense.
3. Expressions such as “investigator” “ researcher” etc. in place
of personal pronoun like “I” ,”We” and “My” should be used
in writing the research report.
4. The size of the types of contents, headings, sub-headings,
etc., should be selected appropriately.
5. There should not be any typographical mistakes.
