2. INTRODUCTION
Currently, there are many studies of SARS-CoV-2 and COVID-19.
This review makes a comprehensive introduction about this disease,
including the genome structure and receptor of SARS-CoV-2,
epidemiology, clinical features, diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis
of COVID-19. I hope my work can provide more information in
understanding this disease, and more research findings are needed
to help to limit spread of the disease and to invent vaccine and
specific drugs.
3. Epidemiological determinants of
COVID-19 infection
The study was designed to explore epidemiological
characteristics, determinants of COVID-19 infection
development and mortality of patients presenting with
severe acute respiratory illness (SARI).
Risk of COVID-19 infection among the study participants
was high. Age, gender and comorbidities increased the
risk of infection. COVID-19 infection negatively impacted
the treatment outcome of the study participants. Age,
co-morbidity and ICU requirement were the other
attributes affecting mortality.
4. SPREAD OF COVID 19
People can catch COVID-19 from others who
have the virus. The disease can spread from
person to person through small droplets from the
nose or mouth which are spread when a person
with COVID-19 coughs or exhales.
People can also catch COVID-19 if they breathe
in droplets from a person with COVID-19 who
coughs out or exhales droplets
6. COMMON CONTROL
STRATEGIES
The best way to prevent and slow down
transmission is to be well informed about the
disease and how the virus spreads. Protect
yourself and others from infection by staying at
least 1 metre apart from others, wearing a
properly fitted mask, and washing your hands
or using an alcohol-based rub frequently. Get
vaccinated when it’s your turn and follow local
guidance.
7. EPIDEMIOLOGICAL
CONTROL
Strategies to increase universal health coverage, with massive
infrastructural changes, upgradation of the public healthcare systems,
and strategic involvement of the private health sector are required to
rise up to this novel challenge that the virus poses, with lasting
benefits for both the current epidemic and future health challenges.
Ongoing control strategies should be constantly
reviewed and adjusted in response to the global and
local COVID-19 situation.
