• These phases maintain order
in a teams growth.
3. Forming
• Direct the team
• Establish objectives clearly
• Aiming to avoid controversy
and conflict
• People focus on their own
tasks
• Meet and Greet and agree on
targets and start to tackle the
tasks.
• Team members are usually
on their best behaviour but
tend to have a special
interest on themselves
4. Storming
• conflict between the team
members
• discussing agreement and
disagreement
• spread ideas and opinions
• competition
• learn how to solve problems
• Express yourself
• Showing self-confidence
5. Norming
• Team starts working as one
• Mutual respect/trust
(opinion)
• Same Goals
• Rule agreements
• Seek assistance/Help each
other
6. Performing
• Some teams stop at stage 3
(norming)
• In case of conflicts team
members solve it
• Can revert back to other
stages in case of 2.
• Peak point of the 5 stages
• Not about discussion but

7. The Elaborator
• Takes two ideas
• Examples
• See’s consequences as well
as disadvantages
• A person who adds details.
8. The Encourager
• Praises the group
• Provides positive attitude
• Incites
• Helps forward a favour
9. The Harmonizer
• Reduces tension via humour
• brings one thing into harmonious
agreement with others
• Someone who brings others together
or who reconciles others.
• Motivated
• Comfortable
• Make people feel at ease
• Excellent at mediating situations
• Skilled at seeing all sides of a problem
• Stick people together
• Soften relations
