3. Within action movies I found that characters,
who were meant to be portrayed as strong
minded and powerful, could easily be made
to look less strong by using a vape pen. I
found that it would allow my audience to
make their own opinions of the character.
The audience would either, view the
character as strong due to them giving up
smoking or look at it as them being weak as
they can not fully commit to giving up. With
my Short Film I also used it to make my
character seem older. This may be my
characters way of trying to earn respect from
his staff considering his young age.
5. The use of an airsoft pistol was really helpful
whilst filming and that is because of multiple
reasons. The pistol I used was really realistic and
looked amazing whilst filming. Also, it was very
helpful whilst in post production. The sound it
made was loud enough to be picked up loudly on
the camera and meant I could easily add in extra
sound on the precise moment the trigger was
pulled. This then added to how good and sleek my
final film looked. The use of the silencer allowed
me to convey the type of assassin my actor was. It
made him seem professional and really good at
what he does.
7. Like the vape pen I used whiskey to make my actor
seem older. This is due to his younger age I wanted
the audience to see this character as someone who
wants respect but is unable to demand it and instead
feels he needs to prove it to his staff. The audience
therefore can make their own opinion of the character
and how he is presented to them. Whiskey is also
seen to be a drink that is drunk by older men who
have a lot of money to spare. This may change the
way that he is presented to the audience.
