The Legislature
1. THE LEGISLATURE
Legislative Power. The sovereign authority to make laws, amend existing
ones to suit themselves in changing conditions and repealold laws that are no
longer useful to the nations.
Function of Modern Legislature.
1. Law Making. The primary function of legislature.
2. Electoral Function. Elect certain national officials as provided for
in the constitution of the state.
3. Constituent or Constitutional Function. The power to amend the
state constitution.
4. Control the Administration. Powers to control in some ways the
acts of government officials in administering the affairs of the state.
5. Jucicial Power. Empowered by the constitution to impeach
constitutional officials like the President, members of the Supreme
Court and other officials
