The Cement Factory of Bizerte
The Cement Factory of Bizerte is a “state owned firm” created in 1952 on the bay of Sebra in Southern Bizerte, 65 km north of the Capital Tunis.
The factory produces the following hydraulic binders:
Artificial Portland cements (standard I): CEM I 32.5 and CEM I 42.5
Portland cement made of limestone : CEM II A-L 32.5
The artificial lime CHA.10 according to Tunisian Standards NT 47-02
Currently, the factory employs nearly 500 persons and produces 900 000 tons of clinker and is the first exporter of the Tunisian cement sector.
Exports present 30% of its turnover.
The company had reached a turnover of TND72 million ($55 million) and a net profit of TND7.8 million ($6 million) in 2007.
