LPI Challenge
What are your strengths according to your own assessment?
Leadership according to me has been my capability to inspire others towards achieving a
common goal. After completing the LPI challenge I have been able to find out my own
strengths and weaknesses that have been able to make me a proper and efficient leader. My
strengths lie in the area of modelling the way for the followers, inspiring others to follow a
vision and in making others to act properly. I have been able to develop myself as an able
and capable influencer. My influencing power helps me to guide the individuals which is
important for achieving the goals easily. Apart from such a thing, I am also able to lead the
followers towards the right path by helping them with showing them the way towards
success. Such a process has been important for my leadership development process.
Inspiring others also helps me gain confidence which is important for a leader.
What are your opportunities for improvement according to your own assessment?
Unlike my strengths in inspiring others and showing the followers the way towards success,
I have my own weaknesses in leadership process. My lack of proper energy to challenge the
system and opt for innovation has been one of my weak areas. The lack of proper innovative
ideas compels me to go with traditional ideas which are sometimes not liked by the
followers. I believe I must take the opportunity to develop and implement innovative and
new ideas in order to ensure success in the most efficient manner. Such a process can also
help me to gain confidence and deliver best results. Apart from this, I also needs to
encourage the followers from heart which can make them more dedicated towards the
system and encourage them to work in a more professional and efficient process. Such a
process will help the followers to learn new skills and develop their overall capability.

Which specific behaviors would you most like to work on?
I believe I need to work on my confidence levels by means of exploring new waters and
implementing new and innovative leadership capabilities. Implementation of efficient and
organized leadership capabilities is important for the development of business in the most
organized manner. The use of innovative leadership styles can be helpful for me to address
new leadership challenges. Apart from such a process, I can also encourage myself by
developing abilities that can make the followers work from their heart. Such a process will
enable the followers to attain extra confidence to work professionally and efficiently. I
believe I must take the opportunity to develop and implement innovative and new ideas in
order to ensure success in the most efficient manner. Such a process can also help me to
gain confidence and deliver best results. Focusing on these areas will surely help me to gain
more strength in modelling the way for the followers and making them capable to act in the
right manner.
My Leadership Competency Assessment
My Strengths:
As discussed in my rating sale of the leadership assessment I have a number of strengths
that are important for me as a leader. First of all I am a leader who acts in line with the
values of the organization and is able to indulge in direct talks which are clear and
transparent. Such kind of action makes me a man who is able to develop success in the most
effective and organized manner. Apart from such a strength my ability to follow through on
promises and commitments makes me a capable and trusted leader. The trust of the
followers over my capability has helped me to gain creditability which allows me to make
effective and wise decisions. It also allows me to promote high performing standards and
continuous improvement. Honest and timely feedback to the followers allows the followers
to develop themselves properly. All these strengths combined together helps me to become
a strong and important leader.
My Development Opportunities:
Though my strengths stands out to be a personal asset, I have a number of area that needs
to be worked out in order to become a more competent and capable leader. For example I
need to apply the leadership traits in a more professional manner in order to develop and
lead by example. Apart from this, I also need to seek out for others who are experienced and
senior leaders to gain knowledge on management. Such a process can help me to gain ideas
regarding professional leadership in the most organized manner. It will surely increase my
creditability to the followers and make me more acceptable as a leader. Apart from all these
I need to invest my time and seek opportunity to generate innovative leadership solutions.
Using innovative leadership opportunities can make me more capable and strong as a
leader. Such a process can help me to handle crisis situations much easily and efficiently.
To Be Successful In My Role, These Competencies Are Most Critical:
To be a successful leader one needs to have an overall capability of all leadership aspects. As
a leader, my score is good. My rating of 3.34 is well above average which makes me quite
confident. I believe I will be able to improve my score in the future by working on the
available opportunities. As of now I lack in a number of different areas which needs to be
addressed in a proper and effective manner. Fo example, my lack of proper energy to
challenge the system and opt for innovation has been one of my weak areas. The lack of
proper innovative ideas compels me to go with traditional ideas which are sometimes not
liked by the followers. I believe I must take the opportunity to develop and implement
innovative and new ideas in order to ensure success in the most efficient manner. Apart
from this, I need to take advice of the capable and senior leaders who can help me with their
suggestions. It will surely increase my creditability to the followers and make me more
acceptable as a leader. Thus turning all these opportunities into a reality can be important
for my success as a leader.
Answer To Question No 1:
In order to be a good leader one must be able to understand the people who will be
influenced by the leader himself. Such a process can make a leader capable and strong
enough to attain success.
As a leader, my ability to follow through on promises and commitments makes me a capable
and trusted leader as it helps me to understand the needs of the followers.
Answer To Question No 2:
Empowering employees is not good always as such a process can make the employees
overconfident and will lead to failure of meeting the targets.
Answer To Question No 3:
The absence of comprehensive training programs can have an impact on the political skills
of the employees. Such a process can hamper the development of the employees.
Answer To Question No 4:
Work culture of ABC Company where I worked a few years back was changed radically and
the management decided to take a fundamental approach rather than the earlier aggressive
approach.

Management skills can be developed by means of extensive training and development
process.
Answer To Question No 6:
Power and influence theory states the ways by which a leader can influence their followers
while situational leadership empowers leaders to act according to different situations in the
workplace.
Answer To Question No 7:
One of the best example of an unethical leadership is the example of billionaire
businessman and reality TV host turned ex American president Mr. Donald Trump. He
openly criticized the migratory policies of America and used foul languages and unethical
leadership styles to undermine different migrants. For example, he used the term rapists for
Mexican immigrants and also said to put a ban on Muslims coming to U.S.A.

Leadership and management skills can be improved though a change management process.
Change Management skills can be developed by means of extensive training and
development process.

  • 1. CIS 5675 Project Management Answer: LPI Challenge What are your strengths according to your own assessment? Leadership according to me has been my capability to inspire others towards achieving a common goal. After completing the LPI challenge I have been able to find out my own strengths and weaknesses that have been able to make me a proper and efficient leader. My strengths lie in the area of modelling the way for the followers, inspiring others to follow a vision and in making others to act properly. I have been able to develop myself as an able and capable influencer. My influencing power helps me to guide the individuals which is important for achieving the goals easily. Apart from such a thing, I am also able to lead the followers towards the right path by helping them with showing them the way towards success. Such a process has been important for my leadership development process. Inspiring others also helps me gain confidence which is important for a leader. What are your opportunities for improvement according to your own assessment? Unlike my strengths in inspiring others and showing the followers the way towards success, I have my own weaknesses in leadership process. My lack of proper energy to challenge the system and opt for innovation has been one of my weak areas. The lack of proper innovative ideas compels me to go with traditional ideas which are sometimes not liked by the followers. I believe I must take the opportunity to develop and implement innovative and new ideas in order to ensure success in the most efficient manner. Such a process can also help me to gain confidence and deliver best results. Apart from this, I also needs to encourage the followers from heart which can make them more dedicated towards the system and encourage them to work in a more professional and efficient process. Such a process will help the followers to learn new skills and develop their overall capability. I believe I need to work on my confidence levels by means of exploring new waters and implementing new and innovative leadership capabilities. Implementation of efficient and organized leadership capabilities is important for the development of business in the most organized manner. The use of innovative leadership styles can be helpful for me to address new leadership challenges. Apart from such a process, I can also encourage myself by developing abilities that can make the followers work from their heart. Such a process will enable the followers to attain extra confidence to work professionally and efficiently. I believe I must take the opportunity to develop and implement innovative and new ideas in order to ensure success in the most efficient manner. Such a process can also help me to gain confidence and deliver best results. Focusing on these areas will surely help me to gain more strength in modelling the way for the followers and making them capable to act in the right manner. My Leadership Competency Assessment My Strengths: As discussed in my rating sale of the leadership assessment I have a number of strengths that are important for me as a leader. First of all I am a leader who acts in line with the values of the organization and is able to indulge in direct talks which are clear and transparent. Such kind of action makes me a man who is able to develop success in the most effective and organized manner. Apart from such a strength my ability to follow through on promises and commitments makes me a capable and trusted leader. The trust of the followers over my capability has helped me to gain creditability which allows me to make effective and wise decisions. It also allows me to promote high performing standards and continuous improvement. Honest and timely feedback to the followers allows the followers to develop themselves properly. All these strengths combined together helps me to become a strong and important leader. My Development Opportunities: Though my strengths stands out to be a personal asset, I have a number of area that needs to be worked out in order to become a more competent and capable leader. For example I need to apply the leadership traits in a more professional manner in order to develop and
  • 3. lead by example. Apart from this, I also need to seek out for others who are experienced and senior leaders to gain knowledge on management. Such a process can help me to gain ideas regarding professional leadership in the most organized manner. It will surely increase my creditability to the followers and make me more acceptable as a leader. Apart from all these I need to invest my time and seek opportunity to generate innovative leadership solutions. Using innovative leadership opportunities can make me more capable and strong as a leader. Such a process can help me to handle crisis situations much easily and efficiently. To Be Successful In My Role, These Competencies Are Most Critical: To be a successful leader one needs to have an overall capability of all leadership aspects. As a leader, my score is good. My rating of 3.34 is well above average which makes me quite confident. I believe I will be able to improve my score in the future by working on the available opportunities. As of now I lack in a number of different areas which needs to be addressed in a proper and effective manner. Fo example, my lack of proper energy to challenge the system and opt for innovation has been one of my weak areas. I believe I must take the opportunity to develop and implement innovative and new ideas in order to ensure success in the most efficient manner. Apart from this, I need to take advice of the capable and senior leaders who can help me with their suggestions. It will surely increase my creditability to the followers and make me more acceptable as a leader. Thus turning all these opportunities into a reality can be important for my success as a leader. Answer To Question No 1: In order to be a good leader one must be able to understand the people who will be influenced by the leader himself. Such a process can make a leader capable and strong enough to attain success. As a leader, my ability to follow through on promises and commitments makes me a capable and trusted leader as it helps me to understand the needs of the followers. Answer To Question No 2: Empowering employees is not good always as such a process can make the employees overconfident and will lead to failure of meeting the targets. Answer To Question No 3: The absence of comprehensive training programs can have an impact on the political skills of the employees. Such a process can hamper the development of the employees.

Answer To Question No 4: Work culture of ABC Company where I worked a few years back was changed radically and the management decided to take a fundamental approach rather than the earlier aggressive approach. Answer To Question No 5: Management skills can be developed by means of extensive training and development process. Answer To Question No 6: Power and influence theory states the ways by which a leader can influence their followers while situational leadership empowers leaders to act according to different situations in the workplace. Answer To Question No 7: One of the best example of an unethical leadership is the example of billionaire businessman and reality TV host turned ex American president Mr. Donald Trump. He openly criticized the migratory policies of America and used foul languages and unethical leadership styles to undermine different migrants. For example, he used the term rapists for Mexican immigrants and also said to put a ban on Muslims coming to U.S.A. Answer To Question No 8: Leadership and management skills can be improved though a change management process.
