Project Overview
Choose career interest, and an interview with a professional to choose a professional issue or problem that you will then research in order to create a project. This project is intended to help you begin to develop strong critical thinking and communication skills while establishing relationships. Completion of will require the creation of some type of finished product that has integrated all of the resources introduced and explored during the course in order to communicate a clear picture of the issue or problem. Completion of these steps and the final product will account for
Driving Question
After exploring and investigating an important issue or problem in society related to your professional interests, consider the following question:
How can I create a final project that will best synthesize the research to help myself and others better understand the underlying elements and factors causing and relating to my chosen issue or problem?
Examples of Professional Issues:
School of Business
1. Career Interest Area of Business Management: After the interview analysis, an issue that stands out is management’s ineffectiveness in the workplace due to the lack of proper training and development. Because of this lack of proper training and development, managers are not equipped with the skills and abilities needed to motivate and engage a diverse population of employees. This situation is leading to poor performance outcomes in many organizations. For the final product, a business student could create a video of several workplace scenarios that would reveal that issues/problems caused by this lack of training.
Criminal Justice and Social Sciences
1. Career Interest Area of Law Enforcement: One issue is women have long been underrepresented in the criminal justice workforce. This underrepresentation is despite the fact that research has repeatedly shown the benefits of women in policing, including the likelihood of not using excessive force, the ability to diffuse volatile situations, and their inherent skill at addressing violence against women. Underrepresentation of women in the law enforcement profession has been an ongoing problem for as long as women have sought it as a career. For the final product, a CJSS student could collect images of police officers in the surrounding cities/towns (or his or her own city/town) and compile a collage revealing the gender disparity with accompanying statistical support in the form of referenced data and sources.
Arts and Sciences
1. Career Interest Area of Exercise Science/Nutrition: One issue is the growing obesity epidemic in America. This proliferating crisis is causing many healthcare related problems, such as childhood obesity, rising healthcare costs, and obesity-related deaths ...

Arts and Sciences
1. Career Interest Area of Exercise Science/Nutrition: One issue
is the growing obesity epidemic in America. This proliferating
crisis is causing many healthcare related problems, such as
childhood obesity, rising healthcare costs, and obesity-related
deaths. Therefore, addressing this issue would prove to be quite
beneficial to society.
3. Step 1:
Interview
choose a career interest area that you are most interested in
pursuing after graduation and write it below: Cyber Security
Career Interest Area Choice: (use a different color font for all
your responses on this worksheet)
Now that you have narrowed your career options to a particular
area, identify and interview someone in that chosen area in
order to learn more about the career and discuss some important
issues or problems they encounter/experience on a regular basis.
Turn in completed interview question handout with interview
signature and contact information for interview component
grade.
Interview Response Here:
Question: What are the possible problems related to cyber
security?
Interviewee: The possible problems related to the cyber security
are unethical hacking and attacks through compromised IoT
devices
Question: What measures should be put in place to reduce the
problems?
Interviewee: There are different measures which should be put
in place to address these problems. Some of the measures
include the introduction of a password policy and access control
systems.
Question: What issues are related to the unethical hacking?
Interviewee: The issues related to unethical hacking include the
loss of data in different organizations.
Possible Issues Identified in Interview: There are different
4. issues identified in the interview. Some of the issues identified
include the ability of the interviewee to take a long time before
providing feedbacks. This has resulted to consumption of a lot
of time in the interview.
Step 2:
Project Ideas
Discuss Possible Issues or Problems with your peer research
group, then research them in DragonQuest, and take notes here:
The possible issues or problems with my peer research group is
the inability to determine the roles of both ethical and the
unethical hacking. According to my peer research group, both
the two types of hacking should not be allowed. The other
issues with my peer research group are the inability to come up
with various ways of ensuring that the cyber security issues are
addressed in the best way possible.
What is your chosen issue/problem? What is your rationale for
that choice (why did you choose this issue and why is it
important?): My chosen problem is unethical hacking. This
issue has contributed to the loss of the critical information in an
organization. For the purposes of ensuring that the issue is not
experienced, the systems should be secured therefore ensuring
that the access control is provided. I chose this issue because it
has ended up affecting a large number of people and therefore
measures should be put in place to address it effectively. Again,
the issue is important because it will create awareness to the
people on the manner in which they should carry out different
tasks to ensure that the hackers are reduced.
Step 3:
Interview Analysis
5. Discuss what you learned from your interview on the chosen
issue or problem and answer the following questions:
· How does what you learned from your interview align with
your current understanding of the issue or problem? What are
some possible causes and effects of the issue? What are some
gaps in this knowledge that you need to better understand this
issue?
Response Here: What I have learned from my interview align
with my current understanding of the issue in that measures
should be put in place to ensure that the cases of unethical
hacking are reduced. It is through this whereby the security of
the information as well as the data in different organizations
will be provided. The possible cause of the issues is the ability
to make use of weak security features in different systems. The
effects of the issue are loss of important information in
different business hence contributing to the failure of the
business. The gaps in this knowledge that I need to better
understand this issue is unavailability of enough sources of
information which will enable me to borrow ideas on the ways
of reducing the issue.
Step 4:
Annotated Bibliography: Research Findings and Analysis
(20 points)
Now that you have gathered some insight and perspective on the
issue or problem from your interview. You will conduct on the
chosen issue or problem and includes a summary and evaluation
of three scholarly sources. After completing this, you need
reflect on your overall research findings by responding to the
following questions:
· Based on your research findings, in what ways is the
culture/community involved in the issue/problem? Does the
6. issue affect them? Explain. Do they affect the issue? Explain.
(You could answer yes to both)
· What additional information about your chosen issue did you
discover in your research and how does it add to your current
understanding of the issue? What seems to be at the center of
the issue or problem?
Response Here: Based on my research findings the community
involved in the issue is affected in that they continuously lose
their important data (Banda, 2019). This has affected the
manner in which they carry out different business operations.
The community affects the issue in a way which helps in
ensuring that they do not lose their data. This has been achieved
through the introduction of different measures of the ensuring
that the issue does not affect them negatively (Chan, 2019).
The additional information concerning the unethical hacking
which I discovered in my research is that we should ensure that
the data encryption as well as the use of password is carried out
effectively (Onifade, 2019). This adds to my understanding in
that I am able to make use of the measures to ensure that the
issue is not experienced. The loss of data seems to be at the
center of the issue and therefore the issue should be addressed
in the best way possible.

7. Step 5:
Conclusions
Based on your interview analysis and research
findings/reflection above, consider the following:
· What type of final product will best synthesize the research to
help myself and others better understand the underlying
elements and factors causing and relating to my chosen issue or
problem?
Possible Options Here: The effective use of the internet sources
will best synthesize the research to help myself and others in
better understanding the underlying elements and factors
causing and relating to unethical hacking. Majority of people
should be encouraged to make use of the internet sources for the
purposes of bettering their understanding on the concept.
Final Product Choice and Rationale: To conclude, the cases of
unethical hacking should be addressed in the best way possible
for the purposes of ensuring that different systems are operated
accordingly. The failure to address the cases of unethical
hacking will make it easy for the security issues to be addressed
in the expected. Again, the unethical hacking cases should be
reduced hence ensuring that the losses of data are not
experienced in different organizations.

Final Product
