2. Steps involved in producing an attractive sketch
Sketches are basically defined as a basic layout of drawing with lots of light shaded outlines. When a
clear drawn image is formed, highlight the drawing using a very dark graded pencil then those extra
outlines are necessary to be erased. In modern society now, people have used the form of sketching
in various purposes such as in the form of information to communicate, general rough ideas, concept
design, delivering ideas and the most important its purpose serves a very important role in architect
before a building plans is drawn out. There are many yet simple ways you can produce an attractive
sketch, these steps are not only require hand skill but also self discipline, perseverance, patience and
practices. Before you begin any sketching, materials and a subject are required. The steps to produce
an attractive sketch will be given below.
The first step, before beginnings to produce an attractive sketch preparing materials are important,
without the right tools the process is incomplete. Head on to your nearest stationary shop, buy the
requirement materials such as box of graded pencil, eraser, color marker, ruler, sharpener, artline
pen, sketch pad. All this materials are vital for those who want to produce an attractive sketch. After
having all your materials, lay all your materials on your table and arrange them accordingly, so that it
will be easier for you to choice your materials. Before start sketching is advisable to do a warm up
sketch, don’t do it too long just five minutes warm up will do. After your warm up is done choose a
subject or a topic to sketch.
Second step, the subject or topic that you have chosen, can be range from a small object to a vast
landscape. Building, landscape or scenery is optional but if you can’t find a suitable site to sketch you
can always refer to web image but make sure is must be a clear image. If your subject is landscape
or building, you are require to have a good eye level of observing and good perspective drawing skill.
But Then again, a small object such as tea pot or house hold object do not require perspective skill
but need sharp focus and good concentrate skill. Whatever the subjects are you must always form a
general image of your subject in your mind before moving on.
Lastly, if you have chosen your subject already, place the idea in your mind then start with the rough
sketch using a light graded pencil, to shape your subject out. Don’t need too many outlines just able
to see the rough outcome of your sketch. After that, start using a medium dark pencil to sketch out
the outlines to form a clearer image of your sketch. Don’t worry if there are more than few outlines
overlapping each other, the important is that to form your image first. Now use a dark pencil and
sketch the image out to form the final stage of your sketch. After you have form your subject clearly,
rub of the excessive outlines then try you use different contrast of pencil to highlight the background
and the subject so that there are some differentiate between the both. After all are done, a nice
attractive sketch is produce. This are some extra stuff that you can add on, if you would like to add
some more detail you could use artline pen to darken partially of the subject or use color marker to
color some detail parts of the subject.
In conclusion, sketching can define a lot of meaning not just giving off concept of ideas. Sketching
can express a thousand words towards art and picture. Furthermore, under the fundamental of art, to
improve sketching, personal skills development is important and it’s the only way to advance this
ability. With your built up experience on sketching, you are able to share your knowledge to people,
tech them and allow them learn and improve from that point on. Producing an attractive sketch
through the steps that had mention, does sound simple but not to forget practice makes perfect.
