The Door
1. The Door
Gen 4:7 If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted?
and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto
thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.
Soul, he is in control of this door- to sin or not.
Gen 6:16 A window shalt thou make to the ark, and in a
cubit shalt thou finish it above; and the door of the ark
shalt thou set in the side thereof; with lower, second, and
third stories shalt thou make it.
A three-story ark and the door on the second level.

1Kgs 6:8 The door for the middle chamber was in
the right side of the house: and they went up with
winding stairs into the middle chamber, and out of
the middle into the third.
Gen 19:6 And Lot went out at the door unto them, and
shut the door after him,
The Soul went “Out the door” of the spirit, “unto them”
in the flesh.
2. Gen 19:9-10 9 And they said, Stand back.
Physical- the flesh
And they said again, This one fellow came in to sojourn,
Physical- the flesh
and he will needs be a judge: now will we deal worse with
thee, than with them.
Physical- the flesh
And they pressed sore upon the man, even Lot, and
came near to break the door.
Physical- the flesh
10 But the men put forth their hand, and pulled Lot into
the house to them, and shut to the door.
the Soul
2Pet 2:8 (For that righteous man
Spiritual- the Spirit (right with God)
dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing,
Physical- the flesh
vexed his righteous soul
Spiritual- the Soul
from day to day with their unlawful deeds;)
“their unlawful deeds” cannot affect the Spirit but
it can the soul.
Matt 6:21-23 21 For where your treasure is,
The Spirit- (Spiritual) it is in heaven
3. there will your heart be also.
Soul- desires
22 The light of the body is the eye:
Physical- the flesh, eye can create desire
if therefore thine eye be single,
Soul- can control the eye (physical) and control some
physical desires
thy whole body shall be full of light.
23 But if thine eye be evil,
Soul, desires
thy whole body shall be full of darkness.
If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness,
If the inspiration for desire is evil
how great is that darkness!
The physical influences the soul.
Col 3:22 Servants, obey in all things your masters
according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as
menpleasers;
Physical flesh
but in singleness of heart,
Soul desires
fearing God:
Spirit
4. Gen 3:6 And when the woman saw that the tree was
good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes,
Physical the flesh
and a tree to be desired to make one wise,
Soul- desired/wise
she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave
also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
Physically committed sin
Ps 101:3 I will
Soul the control center
set no wicked thing before mine eyes:
physical
I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not
cleave to me.
Num 33:52 Then ye shall drive out all the inhabitants
of the land from before you, and destroy all their
pictures, and destroy all their molten images, and
quite pluck down all their high places:
Physical manifestation of evil desires
1Thess 5:4-5 4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness,
5. “if the light that be in you be darkness” should be
no desires for darkness in a Christian.
that that day should overtake you as a thief.
5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of
the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
Ezek 8:3 And he put forth the form of an hand, and
took me by a lock of mine head; and the spirit lifted
me up between the earth and the heaven, and
brought me in the visions of God to Jerusalem, to the
door of the inner gate
Soul leads to the spirit
that looketh toward the north;
The innermost door is the Spirit
where was the seat of the image of jealousy, which
provoketh to jealousy.
This for a Christian is the most holy place, the
throne of God (the Spirit).
For a lost man it is the most vile place, the rule of
darkness sits here.
Each can be provoked to jealousy by the
imaginations of the heart (soul).
Ezek 8:12 Then said he unto me, Son of man, hast
thou seen what the ancients of the house of Israel do
in the dark, every man in the chambers of his
6. imagery? for they say, The LORD seeth us not; the
LORD hath forsaken the earth.
A “dark room” is needed to produce a picture, a
movie is played in the dark,
“nothing good happens after midnight”.
However, light will drown out a false picture trying
to be portrayed on a screen.
Gal 3:1 O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you,
that ye should not obey the truth,
Put them in darkness, blinded their mind so that a
lie could be portrayed.
before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been
evidently set forth, crucified among you?
This picture is reality and shows up in light.
Gen 43:19 And they came near to the steward of
Joseph's house,
Someone is responsible for controlling the door
and they communed with him at the door of the house,
John 10:1-3 1 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that
entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but
climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a
robber.
7. Men are children of the Devil not because they
invited him in but he climbed up another way
(Adam and Eve).
2 But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd
of the sheep.
3 To him the porter openeth;
The soul decides to communicate with the Spirt or
keep the door shut.
and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own
sheep by name, and leadeth them out.
Exod 12:22 And ye shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip
it in the blood that is in the bason, and strike the lintel and
the two side posts with the blood that is in the bason; and
none of you shall go out at the door of his house until
the morning.
The best thing a Christian can do when it gets dark is
put the blood over the door- 3 spots for 3 doors, then
he is ready to move out of Egypt when God give light.
2Kgs 4:4 And when thou art come in, thou shalt shut the
door upon thee and upon thy sons, and shalt pour out
into all those vessels, and thou shalt set aside that which is
full.
8. A parent’s responsibility is the pour into the vessels in
his house the desire for spiritual things till that vessel is
full.
Job 31:34 34 Did I fear a great multitude, or did the
contempt of families terrify me, that I kept silence, and
went not out of the door?
Fear & contempt (emotions) did not stop him from
physically doing the right thing.
Ps 141:3 Set a watch, O LORD, before my mouth; keep
the door of my lips.
Mouth- physical, “the door of my lips” can be opened
or closed at the will of the Soul.
Prov 5:8 Remove thy way far from her,
Physically stay away from a wicked woman
and come not nigh the door of her house:
this woman is heard (she is loud and boisterous) or
seen.
Prov 7:11-12 11 (She is loud and stubborn; her feet
abide not in her house:
12 Now is she without, now in the streets, and lieth
in wait at every corner.)
9. Prov 9:14-15 14 For she sitteth at the door of her
house, on a seat in the high places of the city, 15 To
call passengers who go right on their ways:
Prov 23:7 For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he:
Soul desires
Eat and drink, saith he to thee;
Physical the fleshly advertisement
but his heart is not with thee.
It’s a trick the true desire behind the advertisement is
not what you think.
John 10:7 Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I
say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.
Jesus Christ is the door of the Spirit
John 10:9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he
shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
Jas 5:9 Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye
be condemned:
“Grudge” the Soul (emotion). Against another
Christian.
Behold, the judge standeth before the door.
10. Jesus takes note of the actions of the Soul (thoughts
and intentions of the heart).
Rev 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any
man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to
him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
Jesus want to come in and commune with the Soul but
even a saved man can barricade the door to the Spirit.
Ps 36:1 To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David the
servant of the LORD. The transgression of the wicked
saith within my heart, that there is no fear of God before
his eyes.
Ps 36:3-4 3 The words of his mouth are iniquity and
deceit: he hath left off to be wise, and to do good.
4 He deviseth mischief upon his bed; he setteth himself in
a way that is not good; he abhorreth not evil.
