1. THE PROVERBS
Solomon’s first instruction [‘if’
connects thoughts]
(Prov 1:10) My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not.
Fool= sinner
(Prov 13:20) He that walketh with wise men shall be wise:
but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.
(Rev 18:4) And I heard another voice from heaven, saying,
Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins,
and that ye receive not of her plagues.
(Jer 51:45) My people, go ye out of the midst of her, and
deliver ye every man his soul from the fierce anger of the LORD.
(Prov 1:10) My son, if sinners entice thee...
(Jas 1:14) But every man is tempted, when he is drawn
away of his own lust, and enticed.
Don’t consent to sinners actively or passively.
(Prov 23:2-8) And put a knife to thy throat, if thou be a man
given to appetite.
3) Be not desirous of his dainties: for they are deceitful meat.
4) Labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom.
5) Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? for riches
certainly make themselves wings; they fly away as an eagle toward
heaven.
6) Eat thou not the bread of him that hath an evil eye, neither
desire thou his dainty meats:
7) For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to
thee; but his heart is not with thee.
8) The morsel which thou hast eaten shalt thou vomit up, and lose
thy sweet words.
(Prov 1:11) If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk
privily for the innocent without cause:
12) Let us swallow them up alive as the grave; and whole, as those that go
down into the pit:
13) We shall find all precious substance, we shall fill our houses with spoil:
14) Cast in thy lot among us; let us all have one purse:
15) My son, walk not thou in the way with them; refrain thy foot from their
path:

2. 11) If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily for
the innocent without cause:
(Matt 27:3) Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he
saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again
the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,
4) Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood.
And they said, What is that to us? see thou to that.
‘He was left holding the bag’ when he didn’t want it.
11) …let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause:
“us” as though you are already on their side, you just haven’t been given
opportunity to exhibit the same actions.
12) Let us swallow them up alive as the grave; and whole, as those that go
down into the pit:
Now they ‘us’ are playing God as though they have the power to take life or
the pleasure of life.
Korah, Dathan and Abiram
(Num 16:32-33) And the earth opened her mouth, and
swallowed them up, and their houses, and all the men that
appertained unto Korah, and all their goods.
33) They, and all that appertained to them, went down alive into
the pit, and the earth closed upon them: and they perished from
among the congregation.
13) We shall find all precious substance, we shall fill our houses with spoil:
The goal for the fool is get for nothing something that only can be obtained
by the proper recipient.
(Prov 17:16) Wherefore is there a price in the hand of a fool
to get wisdom, seeing he hath no heart to it?
Innocents lost, is not transferred to the perpetrator.
13) … fill our houses with spoil:
14) Cast in thy lot among us; let us all have one purse: [not each have one…]
(1Tim 6:10) For the love of money is the root of all evil:
which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith,
and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
(Exod 23:7-9) Keep thee far from a false matter; and the
innocent and righteous slay thou not: for I will not justify the
wicked.
8) And thou shalt take no gift: for the gift blindeth the wise, and
perverteth the words of the righteous.
(Deut 16:19) Thou shalt not wrest judgment; thou shalt not
respect persons, neither take a gift: for a gift doth blind the eyes
of the wise, and pervert the words of the righteous.
(Prov 16:8) Better is a little with righteousness than great
revenues without right.

3. 14) … let us all have one purse:
And guess who is going to hold the purse when you need it.
(John 12:6) This he said, not that he cared for the poor;
but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bare what was
put therein.
(John 13:29) For some of them thought, because Judas
had the bag, that Jesus had said unto him, Buy those things that
we have need of against the feast; or, that he should give
something to the poor.
15) My son, walk not thou in the way with them; refrain thy foot from
their path:
(Rom 16:17) Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them
which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine
which ye have learned; and avoid them.
(2Cor 6:17) Wherefore come out from among them, and
be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing;
and I will receive you,
(Rev 18:4) And I heard another voice from heaven,
saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of
her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
(Prov 1:16) For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood.
(Isa 59:7) Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed
innocent blood: their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; wasting and
destruction are in their paths.
(Rom 3:12-18) They are all gone out of the way, they are
together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no,
not one.
13) Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have
used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips:
14) Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness:
15) Their feet are swift to shed blood:
16) Destruction and misery are in their ways:
17) And the way of peace have they not known:
18) There is no fear of God before their eyes.
(Prov 6:16-20) These six things doth the LORD hate: yea,
seven are an abomination unto him:
17) A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent
blood,
18) An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in
running to mischief,
19) A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord
among brethren.

4. 20) My son, keep thy father's commandment, and forsake not the
law of thy mother:
(Prov 4:13-16) Take fast hold of instruction; let her
not go: keep her; for she is thy life.
14) Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way
of evil men.
15) Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away.
16) For they sleep not, except they have done mischief; and their
sleep is taken away, unless they cause some to fall.
(Prov 1:17) Surely in vain the net is spread in the sight of any bird.
(Job 35:11) Who teacheth us more than the beasts of the
earth, and maketh us wiser than the fowls of heaven?
(Jer 8:6-7) I hearkened and heard, but they spake not
aright: no man repented him of his wickedness, saying, What
have I done? every one turned to his course, as the horse
rusheth into the battle.
7) Yea, the stork in the heaven knoweth her appointed times; and
the turtle and the crane and the swallow observe the time of
their coming; but my people know not the judgment of the
LORD.
(Prov 7:22-23) He goeth after her straightway, as an ox
goeth to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the
stocks;
23) Till a dart strike through his liver; as a bird hasteth to the
snare, and knoweth not that it is for his life.
(Prov 1:18) And they lay wait for their own blood; they lurk privily for their
own lives.
(Esth 7:10) So they hanged Haman on the gallows that he
had prepared for Mordecai. Then was the king's wrath pacified.
(Ps 7:14-16) Behold, he travaileth with iniquity, and hath
conceived mischief, and brought forth falsehood.
15) He made a pit, and digged it, and is fallen into the ditch
which he made.
16) His mischief shall return upon his own head, and his violent
dealing shall come down upon his own pate.
(Prov 5:22-23) His own iniquities shall take the wicked
himself, and he shall be holden with the cords of his sins.
23) He shall die without instruction; and in the greatness of his
folly he shall go astray.

(Prov 1:19) So are the ways of every one that is greedy of gain; which taketh away
the life of the owners thereof.
(1Tim 6:9-10) But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a
snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in
destruction and perdition.
10) For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some
coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves
through with many sorrows.
(2Pet 2:3) And through covetousness shall they with feigned
words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time
lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.
(Prov 1:20) Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the streets:
(1Cor 1:24,30) But unto them which are called, both Jews and
Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
30) But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us
wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
(Prov 1:21-22) She crieth in the chief place of concourse, in the openings of the
gates: in the city she uttereth her words, saying,
22) How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in
their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?
(Exod 10:3) And Moses and Aaron came in unto Pharaoh, and said
unto him, Thus saith the LORD God of the Hebrews, How long wilt thou
refuse to humble thyself before me? let my people go, that they may
serve me.
(John 3:19-20) And this is the condemnation, that light is come
into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their
deeds were evil.
20) For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the
light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
(Matt 9:12-13) But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They
that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick.
13) But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not
sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to
repentance.
(Ps 19:7) The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the
testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.
6. (Prov 1:23) Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto
you, I will make known my words unto you.
(Prov 1:23) Turn you at my reproof:
(Prov 29:1) He, that being often reproved hardeneth his
neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.
(Isa 55:6) Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye
upon him while he is near:
(Prov 1:23) …behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you
(Joel 2:28) And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will
pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your
daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your
young men shall see visions:
(Isa 55:1-3) Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the
waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea,
come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.
2) Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and
your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto
me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself
in fatness.
3) Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall
live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the
sure mercies of David.
(Acts 2:36-38) Therefore let all the house of Israel know
assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have
crucified, both Lord and Christ.
37) Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart,
and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and
brethren, what shall we do?
38) Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one
of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and
ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
(Prov 1:23) …I will make known my words unto you.
(1Cor 2:11) For what man knoweth the things of a man,
save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God
knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
(1Cor 2:12-16) Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but
the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are
freely given to us of God.
13) Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's
wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing
spiritual things with spiritual.
14) But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of
God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them,
because they are spiritually discerned.
15) But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is
judged of no man.
