COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course aims to provide a more fun and more meaningful first encounter with
English as a foreign language for 5th
graders public state schools in Brazil. The topics
to be covered during the three-week course are: Introducing oneself and Others,
Families, School Objects/subjects. At the of each unit, students will have gained the
ability needed to communicate effectively by engaging in online activities and
discussions that will provide opportunities to put the course content into practice,
not only in the online classroom, but also in their real world contexts.
COURSE GOALS:
By the end of the course, you will…
• have developed a positive attitude toward learning English through English.
• have improved their oral English abilities.
• know how to function in English in a more communicative way by recalling
the vocabulary and the structures learned.
• become more aware of the importance of speaking English in class in order to
able to use the target language to communicate with others.
• gain an understanding of how they can apply, outside they classroom, what
they learned in the course.
