2. Whatwent
well?
In my pitch I feel like I was able to deliver my
ideas confidently and within the time limit. I also
gave the panel some materials such as a printed
script and storyboard as well as a highlighted
treatment with the key points on, therefore I
believe they were able to fully understand my
ideas through reference back the documents I
gave them.
3. Whatdidn’tgo
well?
In my opinion I think I could have presented with
more clarity and detail on certain aspects such as
the marketplace, where I forgot the specific target
of ShortOfTheWeek and generalised my audience
to be of specific demographics with conventions
suited towards them rather than the criteria
given by the company.
4. Whatdidthe
panelsay?
The panel said I had a good use of eye contact
throughout as well as a clear and confidently
spoken delivery. They also said there was great
detail in my pitch, specifically on target audience
and marketplace as well as a good use of clips to
demonstrate style.
Overall they felt that idea 1 is the most solid and
could turn out to be a good drama piece.
I will take these comments on board to future
pitches and try to balance my detail throughout
all the criteria rather than concentrating on
specific points more.
5. Whichideaam I
takingforward?
I have decided that I am going to take the panel’s
advice and take idea 1 forward to develop into my short
film. I believe the balance the thriller genre will rove
extremely interesting to work in and I believe the plot
is of sound material to provide a good product in the
end.
