Optimize your LinkedIn for key terms with which you want to be associated. Add these keywords to various sections of your profile – headline or summary sections. LinkedIn can be connected directly with your WordPress website – so you can have your blogs linked to your LIP. These ‘backlinks’ will get you abit more searchable with our friend google.
Your summary is the most important white space on your linkedin profile. In old print days, this was called Above the Fold – and your LI Summary is ATF. Your Summary is just that – it’s a short summary about yourself. Your time to tell your story. Don’t use 3rd person – it sounds gimicky and not authentic. Use about 250 words (we don’t’ want to read much more) and leave it with a call to action. Here’s a really good LIS – he’s to the point, precise, exact, his personality almost leaps off of the page. Very well done.
From Entrepreneurs Journey – compile a list of keywords you wish to rank for: (5 – 10 words) – ideally they should be professions that linkein users are looking for. Here is an example: In the first one, Video is mentioned twice, so it’s wasted real estate. Get rid of one of the “video” words – in the second list production is mentioned twice as well. So get rid of one of the production words. Production has been removed from the list of keywords, but it will still rand for this keyword since the word Video and Production are mentioned in the list.
