3. Swami Vivekanandas, orginal name was
Narendranath Datta.
 Birth- Calcutta on Monday,12 January
1863.
National youth day is celebrated in
India on 12 janary on the birthday of
vivekananda

5. *Narendra's father was an attorney at law
in the Calcutta High Court.
* He was good at English and Persian, he
took delight in reciting to his family the
poems of the Persian poet Hafiz.

6. * He was a charitable man. He had sympathy on
poor people.
* He was rationalistic and progressive in
outlook in matters of religious and social
issues, perhaps he was influenced by
western culture.
*His mother was an accomplished lady with a
regal bearing .She was deeply religious.

13. *After the death of his master,he
shouldered the responsibility of
leading the Ramakrishna Mission of
brotherhood.
*At Antpur, during Christmas Eve, he
took the vow of sanyasa and started
practices.

14. *Vivekananda also travelled to America to
attend to the Parliament of Religions that was
held at Chicago on 11 September 1893.
*The spacious hall of the Art Institute was
packed with nearly seven thousand people,
representing the best culture of the country.
