2. INTRODUCTION
The image on my front cover will be taken at Birmingham Ormiston Academy’s
Theatre or Green Room. I intend to take similar shots at each location and decide
which one works better. Within the theatre, I may be restricted to my lighting
choices as it depends what is programmed however in the green room, I have
more lighting options and background options.
Being based in my college, I have no problems with transportation to the location.
WHY THIS LOCATION?
The background for the shot will be an auditorium of a theatre as theatres are
associated with musical theatre and are part of the conventions and iconography
of my genre (when you usually see the theatre, you almost immediately think of
musicals).
AVAILABILITY OF THE LOCATION-
The availability of the location should not be to much of a problem however the
BOA Theatre regularly have productions and exhibitions on therefore I will need
to discuss a time. The events usually take place on the therefore I should be fine
in the daytime. The Green Room I will also need an appointment for.
POWER SOURCES-
I have power sources available to me at these locations. I will ensure I am always
working safely making sure I do not “over-plug”, there is no water near sockets,
nothing near the lights, etc.
LIGHTING ISSUES AT THE LOCATION-
In the theatre, I have control in the lighting to a certain extent (depending on what
is programmed), there is no natural lighting in both locations therefore I will
ensure I have 3 key lighting. I plan to have my key light as a spotlight, as my
model will have her back to the camera, I do not need a fill light. I will experiment
with the angles of the lights and the colour filters on the shot.

INTRODUCTION
The photograph on my contents page will be taken in dressing room like
setting that also links to the genre conventions and iconography of
musical theatre. In the production classroom there are the ideal mirrors
with the bulbs around therefore this image will be taken there.
WHY THIS LOCATION?
This location links to the iconography and genre conventions within
musical theatre. The preferred reading is that the image will link to the
genre and content within the magazine.
AVAILABILITY OF THE LOCATION-
As long as there are not any classes in this classroom, there is very open
availability.
POWER SOURCES-
There are power sources available and I will work safely with these.
LIGHTING ISSUES AT THE LOCATION-
My key light will be the bulbs around the mirrors, I need to test the
lighting in here and see if only using the bulbs will work. They are made
to fill the face therefore I shouldn't’t have a problem.

INTRODUCTION
The photographs in this article will be taken outside on the West End
strip and outside theatres. WHY THIS LOCATION?
This location links to the iconography and genre conventions within
musical theatre. The preferred reading is that the image will link to the
genre and content within the magazine.
AVAILABILITY OF THE LOCATION-
My availability to this location will not be a problem
POWER SOURCES-
I will not have any power sources available and I will therefore need to
charge my devices and have storage on them before hand.
LIGHTING ISSUES AT THE LOCATION-
I am not in control of the lighting for these pictures. Some will be taken
on the night, others in the day so lighting will vary. I will also have to
check the weather as this will affect my lighting.
