Golf Training Aid
Several decades ago, golf was considered to be the game for the Royals. The people belonging to the elite society played gold during their leisure
time. It required a widely spread area where people lavishly played along with other people and made the most out of their time. With time, things have
evolved, and golf has become a universally played game. Educational institutes are adding it to their curriculum where children are taught to play the
game. There are professional institutes imparting training to adults and accordingly making it a sport that is chosen for international tournaments
played between countries.
While you plan to take up the game and learn it in a professional way or simply try your hand at leisure, you need to have the right golf training aid
that can help you get the basic hang of it. These tips ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
You can purchase alignment sticks while you buy your golf training aid which would let you have the right swing adjustment for your aids in future.
The good impact bag – While purchasing golfing aid, it is important to buy a right impact bag. The bag simply helps you to gain momentum in your
hand and get the right wrist position before making a hit.
Help you get the right swing – A perfect swing would let your arms, shoulders and torso move together and not let things go haywire. Before you pick
the one that is right for you, check it with a dummy swing where your elbows are together and not letting you put pressure on a single body part.
A perfect book as a guide – This isn't something that would let you play literally on the lawn but purchasing the right guide book with pictorial
representations can help you understand the good ways to play the game. You would learn the fundamentals of golf well apart from getting professional
training from where you have enrolled

Golf Promotion Paper
Target Market:
The promotion I picked was targeted to the people who love golfing or the people who are interested at outdoor activities. For people who love golf,
they would like to play in different kinds of courses if they have the opportunities to do it. This promotion is trying to target to the people who are very
into golf because once they join the membership they are always welcome to play in different private courses in Las Vegas, such as, Southern
Highlands, SouthShore, and Dragon Ridge. These courses are well known and storied courses in Las Vegas. Moreover, the promotion not only
shows these three well known golf courses, but also other 7 courses which are located in California, Hawaii, and West Virginia. Therefore, if people
join the Pacific Link grants membership they could also access to play other state's courses. Pacific Link also use ... Show more content on

The company explains how join the membership could benefits the members in the states or across the continent as well. It shows the images of the golf
course to persuade the people to join the membership. Also, there are not only 10 courses that members could access, there are almost 100 courses
which members and member's family could access. This promotion would be very convincing to those people who are into playing golf everyday or
every other day. It is very expensive for nonmembers to play in a private golf course; therefore, if he/she joins the Pacific Link membership they
could save a lot of money at the end of the year.
Message Content: I think this promotion falls into rational appeals. The reason is because golfers love to play on the golf course every week. If
they join the membership it is easy for them to play at anytime of the week and also they would save a lot of money as well. Moreover, the golfers
would have the opportunities to play in different courses inside and outside of the country.

marketing case study about chestnut ridge country...
Chestnut ridge country club has a distinguished reputation as an outstanding country club in the Elma Tennessee area in too many different aspects.
The club is facing a decline in the number of membership applicants relative to the competing clubs in the same area. A survey that done by the
researchers on the members of the clubs of the same area shows some weakness in the chestnut ridge country club which may cause the declination such
as the management, food prices, the quality of tennis courts, as I will explain later. Trying to keep or increase the number of applicants some marketing
and managerial steps need to be taken, like commercial steps, change in the membership policies, run some promotions, etc.

Chestnut ridge country clubs has a good reputation due to the board of directors that are watching the club and taking the complains , they did good
job dealing with some complains about the food facilities, since they did a survey to check the members feeling and hired a new manager.

Gastown Cycling
At the risk of offending golf purists everywhere, I must ask, could cycling be the new golf. It's early Saturday morning and rain or shine you see them
everywhere! Road Warriors – hardy folk, dressed from head to toe in lycra, clipped in to sleek racing machines, going FAST! Saturday morning,
once the preferred time slot to hit the links and tee off has now become the preferred time to spin, mash, grind and attack. And if you look closely, you
will notice that a growing number of cyclists are middle aged men, once the key demographic for golf.
The Oxford Dictionary recently coined the term MAMIL to address the explosive growth of Men in Lycra. MAMIL is defined as, "a middle–aged man
who is a very keen road cyclist, typically one who rides an expensive bike and wears the type of clothing associated with professional cyclists." Like
the golfers before them passionate about their game and intent on showcasing the latest club or long distance ball, cyclists too have become obsessed

Over the years Sergio has seen the sport became increasingly social. As we chatted about some of Sergio's favourite rides, it quickly became apparent

Golf, including the history of it, the equipment used, the rules in place, the tournaments held, and the etiquette during gameplay, is unique as a sport
itself. To note, this isn't about the code word for the letter g, but it is the actual sport. Golf is a game of precession and focus; your mental state
influences the game very much. It is a game basically where you use a club to whack the ball into the hole. Golf is one of the most different sports out
there.
Golf's History Where is golf's birthplace? Golf's birthplace is on the eastern coast of Scotland in the Kingdom of Fife during the 15th century,
approximately 1457. Later on, the king of Scotland, King James II, prohibited golf because it distracted people ... Show more content on

Golf equipment back then was hand–made, making it expensive. In 1848, metal club heads and shafts and gutta percha balls were selling so an
average person was able to afford to play golf. This led to the growth of golf. In the 19th century, associations including the British Open and the
USGA (United States Golf Association) held tournaments and researched more about golf. Golf was made a global sport when it was made an
Olympic sport in 1900. For a few 100 years until now, technology advanced, so golf clubs and balls were modernized, causing more accurate ball
flights with more yardage. During this period, many more associations including the PGA (Professional Golf Association) and the WPGA (Ladies
PGA) were made.
Golf Equipment Unlike other sports, you need a lot more than a ball. You need the clubs, the golf bag, the tees, the ball marker, the balls, and the
cleaning supplies. There are four types of clubs– the irons, the wedges, the hybrids, and the putters. For all of the categories except putters and
wedges, the higher the number, the more loft the club has. The woods are used from a long distance to the hole. The 1–wood, so called the driver, is
the least lofted of the woods and the ball goes the farthest with a swing from it. Irons have a higher loft than woods, allowing more precision on the
fairway. The wedge's purpose is to get the ball on the green in a short distance by

Golf Course Engineering Research Paper
Passion project was an exciting, but difficult year long process. I had my doubts about my topic, but in the end I am extremely happy I chose what I
did. For my passion project, I decided to research golf course architecture. It has been difficult at times but no matter the challenge I have overcome it
to get to this point. Golf course architecture may seem like an easy job to take over, or you may think that it doesn't take a lot of effort, and you'd be
completely wrong. The thoughts that have to run through your mind while designing a golf course are endless. When designing a golf course you have
to think of scenarios as a player and think to yourself, "How would I play this hole?", or "What would make this hole easier or more difficult?" ... Show

I believe my time management was extremely successful because I was able to adjust my original plans to fit the time I had remaining. As stated
previously, I had planned on designing 3 final products, a 3d model, a virtual 3d model, as well as a drawing. As the year progressed I had to adapt
to the fact that there was going to be no way that I would be able to finish all three of those final products by the deadline. After I finished designing
my first hole on my drawing, I realized that this was going to have to be my main, if not my only, final product. I was able to identify the issue
with my plan, and modify it to fit the amount of time I had remaining, leaving myself a good path to success. I believe I might've been able to fit
more than one of the final products in, but I didn't want to be forced to rush, or be stressed because passion project is supposed to be a positive
experience. I am happy with the decision I made on this because I think it allowed me to really give 100% effort towards my drawing, and draw it
to the best of my ability. Another decision I had to make as research for passion project was winding down, was scheduling a new interview.

GolfLogix Inc., a three year old company with just six employees, has introduced an innovative product to the conservative world of golf. The xCaddie

As we develop our marketing strategy below we also argue our case against launching a retail channel immediately.
Value Proposition
The value proposition for golf courses is:
Offer the GolfLogix system as a differentiating value–added feature to your customers over your competitors
Improve the pace of play on the course so more players can play within the same amount of time
Join the exclusive band of GolfLogix–enabled courses
Product
GolfLogix will offer courses both the Distance Only and Complete System. This would make these courses more attractive to a wide range of
golfers from novices to pros. The Complete System with kiosk and printer is however not feasible on an individual basis. The advantages of owning a
personal xCaddie include being able to play any course, even if the course doesnaВЂ?t own xCaddies. However, this can only be achieved if every
course is mapped. Whenever a golfer plays an unmapped course where she cannot use her xCaddie, the overall value of the xCaddie decreases. The
cost of different customer service/value levels are shown in Exhibit 3. The more value GolfLogix provides for the customer, the more we can charge
for it. In the future, the functionality of the xCaddie could be extended to being able to upload and download mappings and course–specific tips from
the Internet to make it a complete golfing companion.

Golf Lessons Research Paper
With the warm weather season arriving, it can only mean one thing.
It's time for you to dust off the golf clubs, hit the range, or call some friends for a Saturday afternoon round. If you're like most golfers, though, that
first day out is often a disappointment. Same thing for first–time golfers.
If you're picking up golf as a new hobby or heading out for your 20th straight summer, here are some reasons you should consider golf lessons.
1. You're New
As with any skill, there are good golf habits and bad golf habits.
If you're a new player, though, you can't tell the difference between the two. For example, are you gripping the club the right way?
Grip it too tight or too loose and the ball can go just about anywhere. Anywhere but where ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While muscle memory will probably get you through a round of golf, don't expect a great game.
When you do something on a regular basis, you build a kind of instinct or intuition about it. Let the practice drop and that instinct fades.
Getting lessons helps you rebuild some of that intuition.
3. Get an Opinion about Your Gear
You might meet a certain kind of person on thegolf course. It's that person who constantly upgrades their clubs, grips, or balls based on the latest fads.
For the most part, a good golfer will play a good round even with mediocre equipment. A bad golfer will play a bad round even with a
titanium–infused driver.
If you still use the same clubs you used ten years ago, though, getting a second opinion from a pro doesn't hurt. After the lesson, they can give you
some honest advice about whether an upgrade can realistically improve your game.
4. Your Game Gets Worse
It happens to almost everyone at some point. For no apparent reason, your game gets worse.
Of course, there is a reason. Say you twist your wrist and experience some swelling. It might feel fine by the weekend, but it can change your

The Early History of Golf in the U.S. Essay
The game of golf is one of the oldest of today's modern sports. Its exact beginnings are not known; however, some historians trace golf back to the
Stone Age while others claim it originated from the "idle antics of shepherd boys knocking small stones into holes in the ground with a crook while
their flocks grazed nearby" (Peper 1). Researched back to the time of the Roman Empire, it is also believed the sports–oriented Romans played a
forerunner of the game of golf called paganica. This sport involved the use of a bent stick and a ball stuffed with wool played in the open countryside.

their interest in the game grew, golf clubs and balls began arriving from Scotland. By the end of the summer, the three original holes in the cow pasture

In 1997 to 2008, the cost of goods sold changed due to a decline in the rounds of golf being played, which caused equipment sales to decline as well.
This would also directly effect of the supplies of raw material. 5). Competitive pressures that stem from the different golf equipment retailers. There are
competition with on–course pro shops, off–course pro shops, and online golf retailers. * Driving Forces
The driving forces in the golfing industry that is the major underlying causes of change, is 1). Marketing innovation. The golfing industry needs to
find a way to spark the consumers' interest back into the golfing game. The number of rounds played per year declined from 2007 to 2008 by
nearly 9 million rounds. Since about 30 percent of golfers say that they stopped playing because the fees to play a round of golf are too costly,
there should be a decrease in golfing fees. 2). Changes in who buys the product and how they use it. The golfing industry should target a younger
age group of golfers. The decline in golfers took place among golfers who were married with children, and older golfers who were retired but had
health concerns and injuries. The golfing industry needs to make equipment, apparel and golf in itself more appealing so that the decline experienced
will start to bring a different crowd in as consumers. 3) Changes in cost and efficiency. Because sales are declining, the golfing industry may need to

An Informative Essay: The Sport Of Golf
Arnold Palmer once said, "Golf is deceptively simple yet endlessly complicated." This statement describes one of the most historical sports perfectly.
Due to the tricky yet relaxed nature of golf it is enjoyed by men and women of all ages and skill level. Over the past centuries, golf has developed
from a predominantly European sport to becoming the 7th most popular sport in America (sporteology.com). An avid golfer might describegolf as the
most calming and relaxing walk in the beautiful outdoors, yet provides an immense level of frustration and is the most difficult sport ever played. The
game of golf is one of the most common individual sports played today. Merriam–Webster defines golf as: "an outdoor game which players use special

The word golf is derived from the Dutch word kolf, meaning club (usgamuseum.com). Golf is primarily an individual sport that can be played at the
recreationally, collegiate, and professional level. Due to the fact that many games like golf were played in the ancient years, the exact date as to
when golf officially started is unknown (thepeoplehistory.com). Though many believed that it started in the latter part of the 15th century in Scotland.
In Scotland, King James II actually banned the game of golf, because it distracted those training for the military (athleticscholorships.net). Golf first
fully emerged to the scene in the United States in 1893 when the Chicago Golf Club in Wheaton, IL was developed. It was played casually in
various areas prior to this development (usga.org). The following year, the USGA was formed. The USGA is the United States Golf Association. This

Argumentative Essay About Golf Courses
Golf is a game of skill. To be an avid golfer, there are so many techniques and skills to master. Even the slightest movement can change your hit from
hitting it straight onto the green to slicing the ball into the trees. There are very few that are masters at this sport. In Los Angeles, California there are 10
golf courses, while in Oxford, Ohio there is only one. These amount of golf courses can correlate to many events. Spatiotemporal is relating to space
and time qualities. There are several spatiotemporal arguments against the private golf courses being exempt from the increasing property and some
individuals are not pleased.
In Los Angeles, the property taxes are based on the highest and best use of that property, so if someone bought a piece of land, the property tax would
be the same as if someone was building an apartment complex. The property taxes are very large in Los Angeles, California. Golf courses though, have
a different situation with property taxes. Instead of property taxes having the highest and best use, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They all have ownership in the course and if someone dies, the share gets passed down to another member. Even though there is a change is shares
of the course, golf courses are said to be not have changed ownership, since there is not more than 50% of a change in share at one time. Golf
courses are exempt from this changing property values due to only a small part of ownership changing at one time. In the podcast, there was an
example of something similarly to this change. If a ship replaces boards after they break, is it still the same ship? The ship is still the same, but with
new parts to it. Kind of like how the golf course ownership is. The ownership is changed gradually throughout decades, but not at one time so the golf
course is still the same golf course as before. There are many arguments to go against this that could possibly, one day, change the property taxes for

To: The Park Manager
This report demonstrates the current financial situation for the Stratton Township Park and makes recommendations for the annual program budget for
the next fiscal year. We first show the current annual budget program, indicating line–item details for each function by account and summarizing the
park budget as a whole. Second, we find the break–even points for the golf course green fee and the pool admission to determine what the park would
have to charge in order to cover expenses of the these operations. Next, we calculate the marginal revenues and expenses to determine the impact of
shutting down certain programs in the park. Lastly, this report prepares the revised budget for the upcoming fiscal year based on our recommendations.
In Part 1, we have prepared an annual budget program for the Stratton Township Park that consists of all park operations. This includesgolf operations,
the pool, concerts, nature tours and visitors, concession operations, and administrative costs. A program budget focuses on the cost and revenues of
specific programs (Finkler, Purtell, Calabrese, & Smith, 2013, pg. 76). This budget approach helps management evaluate a program's profitability
and aids in deciding if an organization can afford this specific program. Based on total revenues and operating expenses, the park is experiencing a
loss in all program operations. According to the current annual budget, the township will have to provide a subsidy of $597,101 to

Personal Narrative-A Golfer's Play Disc Golf
A Golfer plays Disc Golf
It was an unseasonably cool day. It wasn't the typical hot, sticky August. It was so cool outside my friend had to wear a sweatshirt. The sun was
getting lower in the sky caramelizing the sky into a fluorescent pink color. This was our last full day of summer and we wanted to spend it doing
something new and exciting. We wanted to play discgolf and I observed my friends and I playing it. The course sits due east of the Fairfax water
treatment facility. It is seated perfectly where players can whiff the unmistakable smells that the facility brings. Just east of the course is a quaint
little park with an area with slides and monkey bars for the kids, and a covered patio for the adults to watch the children run and play. There are lots
of trees guarding the fairways of the course waiting to grab ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As Mitch threw his shot, I made sure to take mental notes of how he threw his disc. This was my first time playing this game and it isn't the same as
throwing a regular frisbee. I attempted the load up that he got, began my launch and fired the disc at the target. My disc went sky rocketing up in the
air. It sat in air for what seemed like an eternity and came back down no where near the hole. My friends all laughed at me and mocked me
adolescence in the game.
My other three friends with me proceeded to put their discs just as close as Mitch and I pondered how they could do it so easily. They all seemed to
have the same concept of throwing the disc. They kept their elbow and shoulder parallel with the ground and the disc would fly towards the target
every time.
As we completed our first six holes, they were toying with me like a Senior to a Freshman. They knew I was weak in this game so they offered to
play a full 18 hole tournament. Being the competitive guy I am, I agreed and played in the tournament. I was never in contention the whole way, it

Golf Observation Paper
On Monday, September 14, 2015, I selected a golf course to observe, as the location was near my house, and because I've never been to a golf course
before, so it was a fresh experience for me. The location was on a bench in Scarlett Woods Golf Course near hill # 9 from 4:40 pm to 5:40 pm, but I
should have mentioned in my observation report that it was in Toronto, Ontario of Canada. While observing the golfers, I used my phone to record, as
I found it weird to have a notebook and pencil out when one is on a golf course. My methodologies of recording and observing could have affected
my observations. For example, with only one hour to observe, it limited my data as I only observed on Monday, September 14, 2015 from 4:40 pm

I should have included that my reason for my descriptive inference was because of their light skin colour, thus causing me to call them Caucasian.
However, I did not have the right to call them all Caucasian just because of their skin colour, for all I know, they might not be Caucasian. A sound

Descriptive Essay
Our town is notable for having several interesting golf courses. For those residents whose interests lie in other pursuits, those courses are a waste of
large quantities of otherwise useful space that could be better used to construct another mall or store. For the golf enthusiasts among us, however, the
preponderance of courses is a delightful benefit of living in this otherwise uninteresting locale, where the only saving grace is the plentiful supply of
interesting people.
The golf course is an oasis of artificiality in a desert of flat land and unnatural colors. While the surrounding landscape is endlessly flat, with only the

In most cases, there is a flat green path between the hole and the player, but there has yet to be a golfer proficient enough to utilize that fairway every
time, requiring the player to cope with the treacherous obstacles that lie in wait for every errant shot.
The absurdly close manicure of the fairways and greens are contrasted with the thick, deep grass referred to as the "rough." The rough is not ubiquitous
though, there are pits of sand, unforgiving abysses of liquid that are rather innocuously referred to as "water hazards," and trees that either swallow the
ball or stand directly in the path of the next shot, making the intended destination utterly inaccessible.
The whole unpleasantness which can result from an errant shot is tolerated for those rare shots that are ecstasy from beginning to end. The perfect,
vibrationless contact of club and ball, the shadow of the ball painted against the sky, the sight of the ball nestled close to the flagstick, the feeling of
triumph that results from that extremely improbable sequence of events all make up for the time and frustrations needed to learn the game.
A player's home course is special. He plays it so many times, he knows it inside and out. The hills, the hazards all become familiar to him. He is able to

Golfer Experience Case Study
GOLFER EXPERIENCE MODULE
Q. Do golfers enjoy having a digital map of each hole that includes distances to the pins as well as distances to the hazards?
A. With the Golfer Experience Module, your golfers can see the hole layout complete with exact distances to the pins and hazards. Your players also
have the ability to touch the screen on the hole where they would like to hit their layup shot and find the exact distance to that spot so they can
choose the perfect club. Golfers can do the same thing off the tee box. This is helpful to see where they need to aim their tee shot, particularly on
doglegs, where bunkers or water features are in play or where the fairway narrows and the rough is deep.
Unfortunately, the golf industry is out of balance with the number of courses (supply) outweighing the number of golfers looking to play a round of
golf (demand). Course owners struggle to attract rounds. In order to stay competitive in today's market, you need to have differentiators that set you
apart from your competitors. This module enhances the golfer's experience at those courses that have it and they have a decided advantage over the
competition with all other things being equal. If you are looking to attract more rounds, use the Golfer Experience Module to make the round more
enjoyable resulting in more rounds and revenue. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Should Golf Courses Be Banned
I believe that golf should not be considered a sport and golf courses should stop being built and here's why. First off, golf takes up to much land and
new courses keep being built everywhere. Golf courses are mostly being built around forests or where wildlife inhabits the surrounding area. You
might think that oh, only small creatures such as squirrels, birds, and many other creatures live around and when you build these useless courses you
are ruining their homes which could have taken months, maybe even years to build. Not only are you damaging wildlife you are damaging the
atmosphere. The trees all around help us stay alive and with people already cutting trees for firewood, pencils, paper, etc. which already damages the

Is Curling a Sport? Essay
The Very Basics
Curling is played on ice with (approximately) 42–pound granite stones. The size of the playing surface (a 'sheet') is 138 feet long by approximately 14
feet wide. The goal is, after all 16 stones are played (8 by each team), to have a stone of your team's closest to the center of the house, called the 'tee'
(see above). This is accomplished by sending your stone to rest in scoring position (a 'draw'), by knocking your opponent's stones outof scoring position
(a 'takeout'), and by guarding your own stones with others. The team with the closest stone, inside the house, scores a point, or more if they also have
the second closest stone and so on. Each round is called an 'end' and consists of two stones delivered by each ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

There is a lighter–colored band in a ribbon around the curling stone. This is the 'striking surface'. In manufacturing, the entire stone if very highly
polished. This surface is dulled down for the purpose of improving collisions with other stones, both so that there will be a larger contact patch in the
collision and so that the stones will not chip.
––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––
(click here for a video demonstration of the stone delivery
The stone is delivered sort of similarly to a bowling motion. Actually, it's not that similar, but it's the only thing that even resembles it. You start off at
what's called a 'hack', or basically a block sticking out of the ice.
Your first motion is to take the stone and pull it backwards, frequently lifting it off the ice in the backswing, then you swing it forward into a smooth
glide down the ice.
However, to deliver a stone well, you should glide along with the stone as far as possible.
Good curlers usually glide very close to the ice, in an odd, very stretched pose.
You must release the stone by the 'hog line' (see at the top of the page, the diagram of the rink)
As you slow down, the stone glides on, to come into play on the opposite side, beyond the other hog line.

regards to national governments there is no pressing or threatening political issue currently.
There is a political subject when it comes to golf's competition governments. The international governing bodies the United States Golf Association and
the Royal and Ancient Golf Club have imposed strict rules on dimension and design restrictions of golf clubs to be used during competitions. This
creates a limitation to innovation for golf club companies. Nevertheless, there is no foreseeable issue here currently.

Economic trends impact golf substantially. When the economy is down it has negative effect on golf courses and golf equipment manufactures.
Many golf courses have some ties to local governments on funding, with the recent recession and resulting budget cuts many courses have had to

Later on, the king of Scotland, King James II, prohibited golf because it distracted people from military training; they had to
prepare to defend themselves from an English invasion. In the 1500s the Treaty of Glasgow allowed golf to be played and in two years, King
James IV of Scotland (James I of England) started to play, making the game popular. Queen Mary I of Scotland showed the game to the French. Her
helpers are the French Military. In 1744, the first club, The Gentlemen Golfers of Leith, later renamed the Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers
in 1768, had an annual competition with a silver golf club as the prize. Duncan Forbes rules were:
You must tee your ball within one club 's length of the hole.
Your tee must be on the ground.
You are not to change the ball which you strike off the tee

Tips For Golf Research Paper
One of the most important golf tips for beginners I can give initially is to learn the basics of golf. There is really no point in just turning up at your
local municipal course and hacking a ball around with the vague hope that it might eventually end up in the hole. All you will end up doing is
embarrassing yourself and really annoying the more experienced and knowledgeable golfers around you. You will also gain no satisfaction from the
experience and will probably never try it again. The following golf tips for beginners will give you a fantastic base to work from.
Firstly, do not even think about going onto a golf course until a professional golfer can step you through the basics of how to address the golf ball, how

In one way, you are learning golf backwards, from the putt to the drive. There is a great discussion going on in the golf world regarding this point but

Next, make sure that you have the right golf equipment. Your clubs need to be right for you so don`t just go out and use a set given to you by your
father. These needn`t be expensive and great advice can be sought through the internet and where you can also get hold of an invaluable golf training
program.
In conclusion, it is crucial to have the golf rules explained to you and also the various etiquettes of golf whether these be your conduct on the course
or what you wear. Your basic knowledge and understanding can easily be challenged via a golf rules test. Here are a number of things to think about
and more importantly understand.
Equipment, including maximum number of clubs, having enough golf balls and tees. Make sure you have a ball marker and a pitch mark
repairer. Never be late for a tee time if you have one booked. Make sure you adhere to the dress code and look the part. Make sure you give the
necessary honours on the tee and play a ball from where it lies. Always keep up with the group ahead of you and avoid slow play. Most importantly
of all, understand course care and safety. We all want to enjoy our round in a safe environment and leave the course in a condition we would expect to

It required a widely spread area where people lavishly played along with other people and made the most out of their time. There are professional institutes imparting training to adults and accordingly making it a sport that is chosen for international tournaments played between countries. • 3. Golf Promotion Paper Target Market: The promotion I picked was targeted to the people who love golfing or the people who are interested at outdoor activities. For people who love golf, they would like to play in different kinds of courses if they have the opportunities to do it. This promotion is trying to target to the people who are very into golf because once they join the membership they are always welcome to play in different private courses in Las Vegas, such as, Southern Highlands, SouthShore, and Dragon Ridge. These courses are well known and storied courses in Las Vegas. Moreover, the promotion not only shows these three well known golf courses, but also other 7 courses which are located in California, Hawaii, and West Virginia. Therefore, if people join the Pacific Link grants membership they could also access to play other state's courses. Pacific Link also use ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It shows the images of the golf course to persuade the people to join the membership. Also, there are not only 10 courses that members could access, there are almost 100 courses which members and member's family could access. This promotion would be very convincing to those people who are into playing golf everyday or every other day. It is very expensive for nonmembers to play in a private golf course; therefore, if he/she joins the Pacific Link membership they could save a lot of money at the end of the year. Message Content: I think this promotion falls into rational appeals. The reason is because golfers love to play on the golf course every week. If they join the membership it is easy for them to play at anytime of the week and also they would save a lot of money as well. Moreover, the golfers would have the opportunities to play in different courses inside and outside of the country. Message Execution ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. marketing case study about chestnut ridge country... Chestnut ridge country club has a distinguished reputation as an outstanding country club in the Elma Tennessee area in too many different aspects. The club is facing a decline in the number of membership applicants relative to the competing clubs in the same area. A survey that done by the researchers on the members of the clubs of the same area shows some weakness in the chestnut ridge country club which may cause the declination such as the management, food prices, the quality of tennis courts, as I will explain later. Trying to keep or increase the number of applicants some marketing and managerial steps need to be taken, like commercial steps, change in the membership policies, run some promotions, etc. Chestnut ridge country club ... • 6. Gastown Cycling At the risk of offending golf purists everywhere, I must ask, could cycling be the new golf. It's early Saturday morning and rain or shine you see them everywhere! Road Warriors – hardy folk, dressed from head to toe in lycra, clipped in to sleek racing machines, going FAST! Saturday morning, once the preferred time slot to hit the links and tee off has now become the preferred time to spin, mash, grind and attack. And if you look closely, you will notice that a growing number of cyclists are middle aged men, once the key demographic for golf. The Oxford Dictionary recently coined the term MAMIL to address the explosive growth of Men in Lycra. MAMIL is defined as, "a middle–aged man who is a very keen road cyclist, typically one who rides an expensive bike and wears the type of clothing associated with professional cyclists." Like the golfers before them passionate about their game and intent on showcasing the latest club or long distance ball, cyclists too have become obsessed with accessories. • 7. Informational Text : Golf 's History Informational Text: Golf Golf, including the history of it, the equipment used, the rules in place, the tournaments held, and the etiquette during gameplay, is unique as a sport itself. To note, this isn't about the code word for the letter g, but it is the actual sport. Golf is a game of precession and focus; your mental state influences the game very much. It is a game basically where you use a club to whack the ball into the hole. Golf is one of the most different sports out there. Golf's History Where is golf's birthplace? In 1848, metal club heads and shafts and gutta percha balls were selling so an average person was able to afford to play golf. This led to the growth of golf. In the 19th century, associations including the British Open and the USGA (United States Golf Association) held tournaments and researched more about golf. Golf was made a global sport when it was made an Olympic sport in 1900. For a few 100 years until now, technology advanced, so golf clubs and balls were modernized, causing more accurate ball flights with more yardage. During this period, many more associations including the PGA (Professional Golf Association) and the WPGA (Ladies PGA) were made. Golf Equipment Unlike other sports, you need a lot more than a ball. You need the clubs, the golf bag, the tees, the ball marker, the balls, and the cleaning supplies. There are four types of clubs– the irons, the wedges, the hybrids, and the putters. For all of the categories except putters and wedges, the higher the number, the more loft the club has. The woods are used from a long distance to the hole. The 1–wood, so called the driver, is the least lofted of the woods and the ball goes the farthest with a swing from it. Irons have a higher loft than woods, allowing more precision on the fairway. The wedge's purpose is to get the ball on the green in a short distance by ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Golf Course Engineering Research Paper Passion project was an exciting, but difficult year long process. I had my doubts about my topic, but in the end I am extremely happy I chose what I did. For my passion project, I decided to research golf course architecture. It has been difficult at times but no matter the challenge I have overcome it to get to this point. Golf course architecture may seem like an easy job to take over, or you may think that it doesn't take a lot of effort, and you'd be completely wrong. The thoughts that have to run through your mind while designing a golf course are endless. When designing a golf course you have to think of scenarios as a player and think to yourself, "How would I play this hole?", or "What would make this hole easier or more difficult?" ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I believe my time management was extremely successful because I was able to adjust my original plans to fit the time I had remaining. As stated previously, I had planned on designing 3 final products, a 3d model, a virtual 3d model, as well as a drawing. As the year progressed I had to adapt to the fact that there was going to be no way that I would be able to finish all three of those final products by the deadline. After I finished designing my first hole on my drawing, I realized that this was going to have to be my main, if not my only, final product. I was able to identify the issue with my plan, and modify it to fit the amount of time I had remaining, leaving myself a good path to success. I believe I might've been able to fit more than one of the final products in, but I didn't want to be forced to rush, or be stressed because passion project is supposed to be a positive experience. I am happy with the decision I made on this because I think it allowed me to really give 100% effort towards my drawing, and draw it to the best of my ability. Another decision I had to make as research for passion project was winding down, was scheduling a new interview. Originally I had planned a face to face interview with the man designing the brand new course at my ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As things look up financially for the company with leases to golf courses and increasing awareness, the company ponders whether it wants to explore the retail channel. Through this case analysis, we explore the various paths before GolfLogix and recommend a course of action. Company & Product GolfLogix Inc., a three year old company with just six employees, has introduced an innovative product to the conservative world of golf. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As we develop our marketing strategy below we also argue our case against launching a retail channel immediately. Value Proposition The value proposition for golf courses is: Offer the GolfLogix system as a differentiating value–added feature to your customers over your competitors Improve the pace of play on the course so more players can play within the same amount of time Join the exclusive band of GolfLogix–enabled courses Product GolfLogix will offer courses both the Distance Only and Complete System. This would make these courses more attractive to a wide range of golfers from novices to pros. The Complete System with kiosk and printer is however not feasible on an individual basis. The advantages of owning a personal xCaddie include being able to play any course, even if the course doesnaВЂ?t own xCaddies. However, this can only be achieved if every course is mapped. Whenever a golfer plays an unmapped course where she cannot use her xCaddie, the overall value of the xCaddie decreases. The cost of different customer service/value levels are shown in Exhibit 3. The more value GolfLogix provides for the customer, the more we can charge for it. In the future, the functionality of the xCaddie could be extended to being able to upload and download mappings and course–specific tips from the Internet to make it a complete golfing companion. It's time for you to dust off the golf clubs, hit the range, or call some friends for a Saturday afternoon round. If you're like most golfers, though, that first day out is often a disappointment. Same thing for first–time golfers. If you're picking up golf as a new hobby or heading out for your 20th straight summer, here are some reasons you should consider golf lessons. 1. You're New As with any skill, there are good golf habits and bad golf habits. If you're a new player, though, you can't tell the difference between the two. While muscle memory will probably get you through a round of golf, don't expect a great game. When you do something on a regular basis, you build a kind of instinct or intuition about it. Let the practice drop and that instinct fades. Getting lessons helps you rebuild some of that intuition. 3. Get an Opinion about Your Gear You might meet a certain kind of person on thegolf course. It's that person who constantly upgrades their clubs, grips, or balls based on the latest fads. For the most part, a good golfer will play a good round even with mediocre equipment. A bad golfer will play a bad round even with a titanium–infused driver. If you still use the same clubs you used ten years ago, though, getting a second opinion from a pro doesn't hurt. After the lesson, they can give you some honest advice about whether an upgrade can realistically improve your game.

  • 17. The Early History of Golf in the U.S. Essay The game of golf is one of the oldest of today's modern sports. Its exact beginnings are not known; however, some historians trace golf back to the Stone Age while others claim it originated from the "idle antics of shepherd boys knocking small stones into holes in the ground with a crook while their flocks grazed nearby" (Peper 1). Researched back to the time of the Roman Empire, it is also believed the sports–oriented Romans played a forerunner of the game of golf called paganica. This sport involved the use of a bent stick and a ball stuffed with wool played in the open countryside. Just a year before, Bob Lockhart, a friend of Reid's, was planning a business a trip to Scotland. At Reid's urging request, Lockhart brought back with him a few golf clubs and balls. Reid laid out three golf holes in his cow pasture and on February 22, 1888, Reid and his neighbor John Upham gave an exhibition on the Scottish game. The curious neighbors, watching the sport, were keenly interested to the point where they wished to participate. Within a few months, the men formed a group known as the Men of St. Andrew's. As their interest in the game grew, golf clubs and balls began arriving from Scotland. By the end of the summer, the three original holes in the cow pasture had become inadequate. The Men of St. Andrew's made their first move to a thirty–acre meadow owned by the local butcher. In November of that same year, during a dinner party at Reid's house, the St. Andrew's Golf Club was formally organized. Reid became the President with John Upham as the Secretary. The absurdly close manicure of the fairways and greens are contrasted with the thick, deep grass referred to as the "rough." The rough is not ubiquitous though, there are pits of sand, unforgiving abysses of liquid that are rather innocuously referred to as "water hazards," and trees that either swallow the ball or stand directly in the path of the next shot, making the intended destination utterly inaccessible. Your first motion is to take the stone and pull it backwards, frequently lifting it off the ice in the backswing, then you swing it forward into a smooth glide down the ice. However, to deliver a stone well, you should glide along with the stone as far as possible. Good curlers usually glide very close to the ice, in an odd, very stretched pose. You must release the stone by the 'hog line' (see at the top of the page, the diagram of the rink) As you slow down, the stone glides on, to come into play on the opposite side, beyond the other hog line.

Golf's birthplace is on the eastern coast of Scotland in the Kingdom of Fife during the 15th century, approximately 1457. Later on, the king of Scotland, King James II, prohibited golf because it distracted people from military training; they had to prepare to defend themselves from an English invasion. In the 1500s the Treaty of Glasgow allowed golf to be played and in two years, King James IV of Scotland (James I of England) started to play, making the game popular.
