2. Brioude in December
What can we do in December in Brioude ?
- On the twelfth or thirteenth of December, there is a Christmas market,
where we can buy decorations or presents. It’s beautiful and it’s very
illuminated.
- After, we can take an aperitif drink in Brioude, with Santa Claus and a
lot of people.
- On the thirteenth of December, there is a Christmas concert. Its name is
« A présent » (« now » in English).
- on the twentieth of December, there is a magical afternoon, where
there are also presents, with a lot of people, children…
3. -Then, we can see the arrival of Santa Claus, sitting on
his sledge.
-The twentieth of December, there is a Christmas Santa
dash, it’s a funny run with lots of disguised people .
-We can see musical animations and a beautiful
fireworks display.
-The nineteenth, the twenty-second, the twenty-third
and the twenty-fourth of December, there are lots of
animations in the streets (carnival, fireworks display,…)
- The twenty-fourth of December, it’s the Christmas
fair.
During this time, there are lots of Xmas raffles.

4. Christmas Eve
We celebrate Chrismas Eve on the twenty-
fourth of December from seven pm until
midnight . For Chrismas Eve,we eat turkey
foie gras, salmon, oysters, snails and we
decorate our house with a Christmas
tree,Christmas balls, garlands and Christmas
wreaths .
In Estelle’s family, they go to church for the
midnight mass but in Margot’s and Manon’s
family they don’t. We open presents at
midnight or the next day.

5. Christmas DayChristmas day is on December 25th. On Christmas day,
we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, in the Christian religion.
During the Christmas meal, we eat salmon, foie gras with fig,
seafood (oysters,langoustine…), we eat the yule log for dessert.
On Christmas Eve, Santa Claus leaves presents to the children
of the world, under the Christmas tree.

6. NEW YEAR’S EVE !
New Year’s Eve is on 31st December.
This feast is for the New Year.
People stay awake and wait for
midnight, to see fireworks.
In many countries, the Christmas Eve
party is celebrated with friends or family.
At midnight, people usually kiss each
other under the mistletoe .
During New Year’s Eve, people eat foie
gras and drink the champagne to
celebrate the start of the New Year.

7. Epiphany
The Twelfth night is a public holiday, once
Christian. It celebrates the Messiah
receiving the royal image. It’s on the 6th
January. We eat a Twelfth night cake. It
has got a charm in it. The person who
finds this charm is the king. In Paris,
bakers cook this cake for the president.
These cakes haven’t got charms because
