2. Roxy Paine is an artist that is known for his abstract taste.
This is exactly what drew me to his art.
3. One of his famous early works includes “Dinner of the Dictators.” In this
work of art, dinners which were the favorites of various infamous
dictators. There were many dictators favorite dinners used including
Adolf Hitler and Napoleon Bonaparte.
4. Another interesting work by Paine is called, “Amanita Field.” In this
amazing work of art replicas of poisonous mushrooms were created and
seem as if they are sprouting from the very museum floor.
5. Another abstract artwork done by Paine is “S2-P2-P6.” This sculpture isn’t
very exact on what it is. It seems it could either be a pile of malleable
material but it also looks to be as if it’s human organs.
6. Probably one of the most interesting of Paine’s artwork is titled
“Distilled.” It is supposed to be an abstract replica of a circulatory system.
7. This artwork is very large and is spread throughout various rooms. This
style of “branch-like” metallic material is often repeated through out
many of his artworks.
8. Since this artwork is viewed inside a gallery, it helps change the
perception of the viewer as if they are really inside perhaps a human
being.
9. Another very interesting work of art by Paine is one of a computerized art
maker. He basically programmed the computer to make these artworks
called, “Scumaks and Dendroids.”
10. Occasionally, the “Dendroid” will generate amazing “Scumaks” that are
actually displayed in another museum. An artwork which generates more
art.
11. No matter were or what Paine decides to create, it is always eye catching
and usually has a message to it. I love his abstract style it is one of the key
elements that makes me a fan of his work.
