 The band got its name from the title of Aldous Huxley's book ___ _____ of Perception, which
itself was a reference to a quote made by William Blake, "If ___ _____ of perception were
cleansed, everything would appear to man as it is, infinite."
 In what is perhaps the most ubiquitous literary reference of all time, X takes its name from Y’s Z.
 Oddly enough, X was not the first choice, after one of the company’s cofounders rejected the
name “Pequod” and “Cargo House”.
 X by Michael Leigh was a contemporary mass market paperback about the secret sexual
subculture of the early 1960s that Cale's friend Tony Conrad showed the group.
 MacLise made a suggestion to adopt the title as the band's name. According to ____ and
Morrison, the group liked the name, considering it evocative of “___________ cinema", and
fitting, as ____ had already written "Venus in Furs", a song inspired by Leopold von Sacher-
Masoch's book of the same name, which dealt with masochism.
 Jesus answered -
"A certain man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and he fell among robbers, who both
stripped him and beat him, and departed, leaving him half dead. By chance a certain priest was
going down that way. When he saw him, he passed by on the other side. In the same way a Levite
also, when he came to the place, and saw him, passed by on the other side. But a certain X, as he
travelled, came where he was. When he saw him, he was moved with compassion, came to him,
and bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. He set him on his own animal, and brought him
to an inn, and took care of him. On the next day, when he departed, he took out two denarii, and
gave them to the host, and said to him, 'Take care of him. Whatever you spend beyond that, I will
repay you when I return.‘
— Luke 10:30–37, World English Bible
 I wrote “X" at my mother's house in Warrington … I was thinking about the Chinese I Ching, 'The
Book of Changes" … The Eastern concept is that whatever happens is all meant to be, and that
there's no such thing as coincidence – every little item that's going down has a purpose.
 “X" was a simple study based on that theory. I decided to write a song based on the first thing I
saw upon opening any book – as it would be relative to that moment, at that time. I picked up a
book at random, opened it, saw “______ _____", then laid the book down again and started the
song.
 O wonder!

 "Ingrid said 'Oh X, how lovely to see you, are you buying up Harrods?' When in fact, I had about
two pounds in my pocket.“

 The Disgrace of Gijón refers to the 1982 FIFA World Cup football match played between West
Germany and Austria at the El Molinón stadium, Gijón, Spain, on 25 June 1982.
 With the outcome of that match already decided, a win by one or two goals for West Germany
would result in both them and Austria qualifying at the expense of Algeria, who had beaten West
Germany in the first game. After 10 minutes, West Germany took the lead. Thereafter, neither
team scored, and few scoring chances were created, along with much own-half passing and few
tackles: with both sets of players flamboyantly missing with apparently no attempt at accuracy
whenever they shot on goal.
 What regulatory change/revision by FIFA did this incident invoke?
Last matches of the group stage were

 X, was created by artist Steve Ditko and portrayed in live action by Peter Hooten in the 1978

 Based on the principle that "man only truly respects what he pays for," the brothers decided to
charge a price for the guide.

 We teach girls to shrink themselves, to make themselves smaller
We say to girls: "You can have ambition, but not too much
You should aim to be successful, but not too successful
Otherwise, you will threaten the man"
Because I am female, I am expected to aspire to marriage
I am expected to make my life choices
Always keeping in mind that marriage is the most important
Now, marriage can be a source of joy and love and mutual support
But why do we teach girls to aspire to marriage
And we don't teach boys the same?
We raise girls to see each other as competitors
Not for jobs or for accomplishments, which I think can be a good thing
But for the attention of men
We teach girls that they cannot be sexual beings in the way that boys are
We should all be feminists,
Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

difficulties of this type of paint job, painters and mechanics tested out different ways to achieve
the look. Some automotive shops would glue newspapers over the already painted sections

The two-tone look was created by painting the car one color, applying a barrier of some sort to the painted portion, and then painting the next section. In order to get around the difficulties of this type of paint job, painters and mechanics tested out different ways to achieve the look. Some automotive shops would glue newspapers over the already painted sections while others used ____ to prevent paint transfer. However those techniques often left a sticky residue on the paint that was difficult to remove. Sometimes, it would even mean the painters had to do the entire paint job over again.  When Richard Drew and 3M began allowing car painters to test the new X, one painter supposedly complained about the lack of ________. One version of the story claims that the painter asked "Why so ______ with the ________?" Another version states that the painter said "Take this back to your ______ bosses and tell them to put more _________ on it."
