2. Wilbur Wright and Orville Wright
were two Americans that invented
the first successful airplane. On
December 17, 1903, the two brothers
developed their first flying machine
into the first fixed-wing aircraft.
3. On October 4, 1908, Wilbur Wright gave the first
demonstration of flying before a mass audience in
New York. Aviation started becoming a BIG business!
In November of that year, they created “The Wright
Company.” Their company made airplanes.
4. Orville Wright lived on until 1948 and continued to
experiment with seaplanes until he died. The U.S.
Army Air Corps dedicated Wright Field at Dayton,
Ohio as a center for research on airplane design.
The Wright brothers were two amazing Americans who were
dedicated to making airplanes.
