1. FOCUSING ON AMERICA’S COMMITMENT TO ALTERNATIVE ENERGY STRATEGIES
GEOTHERMAL ENERGY SYSTEMS, INC. (GESI - pronounced “Gee-See”) is a specialized geother-
mal energy service company focused on delivering energy efficient heating and cooling to
groups of buildings in downtown core areas using a unique geothermal design. GESI uses a
patent pending hybrid designed low-temperature district system coupled with geothermal
heat pumps to deliver energy efficient heating and cooling based on the renewable energy
source of water for user-controlled thermal comfort.
A geothermal heat pump (GHP) system is a heating and air conditioning system that uses the
earth's ability to store heat in the ground and/or water source. GHP systems operate based

of producing heat. Geothermal systems hold the potential
to address global issues related to rising energy costs
and pollution. GHP's use very little electricity and are easy on the environment. In the U.S.
alone, over 300,000 homes, schools and offices are kept comfortable by GHP systems and
hundreds of thousands more are used worldwide. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
has rated GHP's among the most efficient of heating and cooling technologies on the market
today.
Leveraging a geothermal energy initiative, in conjunction with other critical infrastructure up-
grades, such as advanced communications and strategic real estate development can posi-
tion the community for new and sustainable revenue opportunities.
BENEFITS:
• Utility savings are immediate with service costs being flat-rate based. (“fixed fee per month”)
• Streamlined service billing (no meters are involved) provide further incentive discounts via
“pre-pay” and reduced billing cycle options.
• Reduced and/or eliminated maintenance costs for boilers, chillers, air conditioning sys-
tems and furnaces result from the geothermal offering.
• Customers are contributing to the lowering of pollution and global warming by reducing
CO2 emissions (not burning fossil fuels for heating). You are contributing to a cleaner and
healthier environment.
• Local government can gain a new revenue stream that can be used to offset increased
business costs that impact tax increases to local residents and business.

2. Business & Service Strategy
The GESI strategyeach building via an “open-loop” geothermal design.tapped from athe open-loop district

is focused on utilizing an abundant source of water
Water from
series of wells and
network of piping passes through a heat exchanger in each building, the heat exchanger then extracts either
heating or cooling from the open-loop water supply, passing such to a “closed-loop” system circulating in
each individual building. The open-loop water supply is
distributed through a network of connected buildings and
then returns the water supply back into the aquifer at +/- 2
degrees of original temperature. No environmental impact
or contaminations are involved in the process.
The GESI business focuses on the delivery of heating and
cooling services to individual buildings and spaces within
buildings. In serving a community, GESI develops and in-
stalls a network of piping to accommodate groups of com-
mercial, industrial and residential buildings. The more
buildings connected to the geothermal system the better,
for this results in lowering costs for all parties involved
while triggering increased economic value to each family,
business and to local government.
GESI handles all aspects of delivering the service includ-
ing; system design, engineering, construction, operations,
billing, customer service and maintenance. We partner
with local communities and private partners to decrease
costs to the customer. In doing so, service income is
shared with partners associated to the business. Local
government (city and/or county agencies) participate as part-
ners gaining revenue via ROW (right-of-way) agreements.
GESI is not a water or utility company … we provide an
alternative strategy that replaces conventional methods for
heating and cooling. Our business is that of replacing tradi-
tional heating and cooling systems with a geothermal en-
ergy system, or installing “new” in Greenfield areas. In do-
ing so, we can deliver a reduction in the escalating expense for heating and cooling services, in many cases
at a percentage rate as much as 50% below current costs. Prior to service commencing, a “one-time con-
nection fee” is applicable, as are possible construction costs for building retrofits to accommodate geother-
mal distribution systems throughout the facility.
The GESI model and strategy will not work everywhere and requires a readily available source of water as
the primary building block for feasibility. Pilot projects in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania have proven
the GESI design strategy and that the system brings numerous economic and community revitalization
benefits to the forefront.
GESI is a Founding Member in the Alliance for Cooperative Innovation (AFCI), a federated cooperative. This
is just one avenue that the GESI team schedules as it works with individual communities to develop and
configure the strategy for implementing a geothermal initiative. While GESI works directly with any prospec-
tive party, collaborating with the Alliance represents an effective route that quickly positions the various
benefits and economic growth strategies of the community at the center of the project mission.
