How to go about launching a startup in college
There are many who took the initiative of launching a startup when they were still in
college. You too could emulate this feat if you have the enthusiasm and the persistence
to transform your germ of an idea into reality.
The following tips could assist you in achieving your goal:
1. Make your goal your obsession
You need to be obsessed with what you are planning to achieve. If you are not
passionate enough, the likelihood is less that your dream startup will see the light of the
day. Something or the other must be done every single day in pursuit of the ultimate
objective. If you are really gung-ho about launching a startup, just wrap yourself up in
the activities pertaining to your goal. Are you game?
2. Brainstorm with your friends and fellow students
A major advantage of planning to launch a startup in college is that you can get ideas
and suggestions for free from your friends and fellow students. Some may be skeptical
of your vision but if you are lucky enough to be encouraged by a few of your peers who
pitch in with their own inputs, you may feel all the more inspired to start pursuing your
goal with renewed vigor.

3. Set targets for yourself
You need to set targets for yourself in order to see how much headway you have made
after a certain passage of time. Have well-defined goals for a fortnight, a month, and a
quarter of a year and try your level best to achieve them. How about beginning with a
target for a week?
4. Read The Lean Startup by Eric Ries
The Lean Startup by Eric Ries, which was launched a couple of years back, is
supposed to serve as a guide to budding entrepreneurs. It is recommended that you
read this book before you finally kick-start your new venture. The time and effort
devoted into reading this book will bear fruit once your enterprise is up and running.
5. Strive to achieve your growth
Be it a well-established organization or a start-up, growth is essential for both. Once
your startup is ready and its operations have begun, its graph must rise steadily and the
onus must be on you to ensure that it reaches its zenith.
