MARKET SUMMARY
The Indian market began the August series on a subdued note, with benchmark indices
ending lower, but the Nifty closed above 10000 for the third straight session. The
Sensex closed down 73.42 points at 32309.88, while the Nifty ended lower 6.05 points
at 10014.50. The market breadth was negative as 1265 shares advanced against a de-
cline of 1374 shares, while 168 shares were unchanged.
HDFC, Infosys and Yes Bank gained the most on both indices, while Dr Reddy’s Labora-
tories and Lupin were the top losers.

NIFTY this week was an amazing week for the index where it touched the highly expected 10000 mark and it has also closed above
it. Although the index may see now a little consolidation as the weekly and daily candles for the coming week are not that much at-
tractive but than the overall sentiment is positive for the market. So we advise you to buy Nifty from around 10000 for the targets of
10150 and 10300 with strict stop loss of 9850.

DR REDDYS LABORATORIES reported 56.61 per cent dip in consolidated net profit to Rs.66.6 crore for the quarter ended June, mainly on account of low-

TATA GROUP NTT DoCoMo, in November 2008, acquired 26.5 per cent stake in Tata Teleservices for about Rs. 12,740 crore (at Rs. 117 per share), offering
services under the Tata DoCoMo brand.
RELIANCE CAPITAL has reported a 15 per cent rise in consolidated net profit at Rs. 238 crore in the June quarter. Its net profit stood at Rs. 207 crore in the
corresponding period a year ago.
BIOCON Bio-pharmaceutical firm Biocon's shares dropped 7 per cent , a day after the company reported a 51.20 per cent decline in consolidated net profit for
the quarter ended June 30 .
ONGC State-owned Oil and Natural Gas Corp (ONGC) has won government approval for acquisition of Gujarat State Petroleum Corp's entire 80 per cent hold-
ing in a KG basin gas block for Rs. 7,738 crore .
LARSON & TOUBRO total income in the quarter under review increased 9.89 per cent to Rs.24,374.64 crore, from Rs. 22,179.59 crore in the year-ago peri-
od.
LIFE INSURANCE CORPORATION OF INDIA The state-owned life insurer has registered a growth of more than 10 per cent in terms of new business
premium in the first quarter of the current fiscal .
