Large pieces of white paper
Paint (spring colors)
Paintbrushes
3. Empty plastic bottles
Sponges
Tissue paper
Paper plates
Procedure:
1. Children will be instructed they will be making their own flower garden within
groups.
2. Discuss how all flowers in a garden are different like us and will be creating our own
unique flowers.
3. Children will form groups of 4 to 5 children
4. Each group will have a large piece of paper with several different tools to create a
flower garden
5. Each group will also have several spring colors of paint to chose from on a paper
plate
6. Children will chose some tools and begin to create their flowers however they choose
7. When complete lay to dry and discuss some of the different flowers that we created
Outcomes:
Children may use some tissue paper to create a textured or 3-d picture if they chose.
Children will experience the use of different tools to paint and the freedom to create
unique flowers of their choice. Children will also come to recognize the differences in all
things and themselves and the beauty in being different.
