Where are deserts found and why? There are 4 main reasons that a region may be a desert but it is  always  to do with factors that limit the amount of rainfall to the area .  A general pattern can be seen . Many deserts are found in the sub-tropics between 10 and 30° N and S of the equator.  Why is this? Why are most deserts found between 10°and 40° N and S of the equator? Trade Winds Convectional Rainfall Equator Evaporation Solar radiation Tropics  Condenses Rises High/Low Pressure  Sinks
