During the production of a magazine, the author used several technologies for different purposes:
- Survey Monkey was used to conduct surveys as it allowed for multiple choice and paragraph answers, unlike Google Docs.
- Prezi, PowerPoint, and PowToon were used for presentations. While Prezi had complicated editing, its path tool created a good effect. PowToon did not allow changing insert points and had a watermark without paying.
1. Technologies in the
Production of My Magazine
During the production/evaluation of
my media product I was exposed to
a range of technologies used for
different purposes such as Prezi,
Photoshop and Survey Monkey.
2. When conducting my primary research I
had to take surveys. As my school is
connected via a massive student database
I conducted this electronically. I initially
tried to use Google Docs but the layout
was unclear and I couldn’t ask multiple
choice questions making this a bad format
for my work – because of this I used
Survey Monkey as I could include
paragraph answer boxes, multiple choice
with many others.

3. Presentational Software
When then presenting this work I used
different presentational formats like
Prezi/PowerPoint/PowToon.
When using all of these I found
some faults and benefits; for
example: with Prezi it’s a little
over complicated and if you
change/insert anything all the
editing will change and all go
misshaped, however the ‘path’
tool made for a good looking
effect.
4. Presentational Software
With PowToon if you inserted
anything you are unable to change
where it comes in or goes out. On
your final piece there, in the bottom
corner, will be a watermark. They
offered backing music but unless
you pay it’s either Christmas music
or some strange metal backing
track that didn’t fit anyone’s
cartoon.
