Suresh Gyan Vihar University has launched B.A. and B.Com. Programmes. These programmes
are different from other such programmes run by other institutions. These programmes are
career oriented and focus on skill enhancement of the students.
Why these programmes?
80% students after class 12th go for Arts and Commerce courses, however, they find it difficult
to prepare for career based on their studies in graduation. There are continuous surveys which
reveal lack of employability skills among graduates. Thus there is a need of programmes, which
can prepare students for better careers. Suresh Gyan Vihar University therefore carried out
study on existing programmes and found the following : -
a. There was no softskills training in most of the BA and BCOM programmes
b. There was virtually no industry interaction
c. The students were not exposed to the requirements of the corporate world
d. The students were not exposed to different technical / aptitude tests that are used by the
coporate world for recruitment.
f. The students are not given an opportunity to interact with great persons (who can be their
role model).
These findings enabled Suresh Gyan Vihar University to launch programmes to meet the
requirements of the changing times. Thus the university designed and offered BA and B.Com.
programmes, for the changing requirements. The BA and B.Com. programmes offered by the
University have many features which make these programmes different, distinctive and career
oriented.
