Tennis Is My Favorite Sport
People have always said that sports are so great for anyone who struggle with drama filled lives,
anxiety, depression and many more problems like this. They say this because sports occupies a
portion of your time and and provide you with an escape you can't find anywhere else. When you're
playing a sport, you're so focused on what you need to do in the heat of competition that nothing else
in the world seems important. Because of that experience, I couldn't agree more with those people.
Tennis is my favorite sport. I started playing in the seventh grade. When I'm playing, the experience
is what I love. I love everything about it... the fresh smell of new tennis balls when you pop open the
can, the hype before matches that get's the team...show more content...
Everyone has good days and bad, life is full of plot twists and the unknown is always there to hit
you; however, when I'm playing I don't worry about any of this. On that court, I'm only worried
about me, my partner, and how we're going to fight for the win.
Game day – Westfield
The team dressed up in our best dresses to school on this day. None of us knew much about
Westfield, so my friends and I did some research. We learned more about the school than we did
whatever was being taught in that class. Westfield, a 3A school is located close to Indianapolis.
Our thoughts were 'they're a big city school, they're most likely very good' in other words, we knew
we were already done for.
It was after school and we all made our way to the locker room to get ready, and prepare; actually
meaning mess around. The atmosphere was like always, fun and vibrant, you could instantly feel
the energy as soon as you walk in. We changed into our uniforms, put on our tennis shoes and
talked about this unfamiliar school. None of us were too worried because of the fact that we
were county champs, conference champs, sectional champs and overall a good, hard team to
beat. After a while our bus had arrived and we all exited the locker room and some of us stopped to
fill up our waters. Excited and jumpy we all made our way in and loud chatter soon filled the bus.
If you were to get on the busses with us to away games, you'd think we're all crazy; we're out of out
seats, standing up

My Favorite Sport: Football
Sports are my favorite pastime and I truly enjoy playing and watching almost any sport, but one
sport holds a special place in my heart, and that is football. Growing up football has been a part of
my life and I don't think I could live without it. When I was younger, I played little league football
for three seasons while I was in elementary school; during that time playing football I played two
positions, cornerback and running back. Although we always had a losing record, I enjoyed
playing every second of the seasons. After the end of my third season playing little league
football I did not play the sport until my junior year in high school. During my junior year in high
school I started playing football once again at Airport High School. After not playing football for
so long I had forgotten how physically taxing it was and was not in the best shape to really play
that well; throughout the season I thought about quitting because I was not conditioned enough
and was not playing as much as I would have liked. My first year back into football was not my
best season but I still adored playing and getting back into the sport I love. My senior year of
football was by far my favorite season of football in my life. During the season, I had my most
memorable play, which was an interception that I took back for a touchdown, it is my most
sentimental memories of football. All the brotherhood and chemistry built with team over my senior
season brought us to an 11–2 record and a

My Favorite Sport Of Volleyball
We've all had to answer this question before, what's your favorite thing? We can answer that pretty
easily because it's something that's special to us. Whether it's playing or watching your favorite sport
or having a favorite stuffed animal, it's something that we will always cherish. There are multiple
reasons why that favorite thing is important, and we will never forget them.
The rush of adrenaline you get right when your feet hit that court is like nothing else. That's why my
favorite thing is the sport of volleyball. I have played this sport from a young age so it has been all I
have ever known. The sport is unique because it incorporates skills that you must practice over and
over to become perfect at. The team atmosphere is something I love about the sport. The feeling
that the other five teammates on your side of the net have your back. This sport is impossible to
succeed at if only one player isn't committed to the whole team goal. That's why team–bonding
comes into play on and off the court. I remember having team dinners the night before every game. I
would sit by my teammates talking about the game we had tomorrow, while eating loads and loads
of that ooey gooey mac and cheese. My team would also do secret–sister before games. I would pick
another player on my team to get me some quick snacks. I would then write her a note giving her
encouragement for the game the next day. When I read the note from my teammate it was the best
feeling in the whole world knowing that my friend had confidence in me to play my best game.
Not only were the girls on my team an inspiration to me but also the coaches that sat on the
sideline during every match, and every practice. My coaches through my 9 years of volleyball
have taught me an enormous amount of lessons. My coaches became mentors for the sport I love
but also for life. I was taught many lessons from my coaches over the years that could be used for
later on. For example, when I was playing on my club volleyball team at 12, I remember struggling
to serve the ball over the net. My coach told me that I wasn't going to be perfect at that skill the
first time I tried it. It would take multiple practices in the gym to meet my goal. That was a lesson I

For as long as I can remember, I have been an athlete. That was my identity from the day I was old
enough to play sports. I started out doing gymnastics when I was three years old and then added
soccer a year later. In elementary school, I added basketball and tennis to the mix. In 7th grade I
tried field hockey and lacrosse. By the time high school came along, I had decided that field hockey
would be my main sport and I would play collegiately. I loved field hockey more than I loved most
people. I played for hours every single day. My typical day consisted of waking up, going to school,
playing field hockey, and going to bed. Sure, I was involved in some clubs and I did well in school,
but most people knew me as the field hockey girl. On...show more content...
All of the hard work I had put in finally paid off. Fast forward to the fall of my freshman year of
college, I was thriving. I ended up starting as a freshman, and was so proud to be able to call
myself a student athlete. Every time I put on my uniform I was overcome with an intense wave
of pride. From the moment I stepped on campus, I was instantly labeled as an athlete. Everything
I did at college revolved around field hockey. I scheduled my classes around field hockey, I went
to field hockey practice, I ate meals with my team, I lived with my team, and I wore clothes that
publicized my status as an athlete. Just like in high school, I was known as the field hockey girl.
By the time I prepared to leave for my sophomore year, something had changed. I no longer smiled
uncontrollably as I drove up to the field hockey field. I started checking my watch every five
minutes counting down the minutes till practice was over. I no longer got butterflies in my stomach
on game day. I no longer cared. I lost interest "the way you fall asleep; slowly and then all at
once." I started questioning why I was even playing field hockey. I debated quitting, but I couldn't.
I couldn't disappoint the people around me. So many people had put time and energy into helping
me get to where I was. Everyone was constantly telling me how proud they were of me. I was
constantly reminded of the fact that I was an athlete and that was how everyone saw me. By the time
my sophomore season came to

The chorus of whistles, cheers and volleyball's pounding against the ground filled my ears as I
watched my opponent dribble her routine against the floor. One, two, three hits against the floor,
a spin in her hand, a deep breath in. She tosses the ball up in the air, and my body automatically
moves in the direction her body is facing. I watch the ball hit her hand with solid contact, and how
it moves to our side of the net; no spin. The ball sails toward the back end of the court, my feet
move into the familiar drop step position. However, my feet don't move fast enough, I'm forced to
take the ball outside my body. It skids across my arms, and moves further to the back line. Despite
the obvious effort my teammates put in to reach the ball...show more content...
Once again, it had paid off; I had been named libero, the first starting freshman libero since
Kendall. While it felt like a weight was lifted off my shoulders, another one was loaded on. I had
to fill Kendall Braate's shoes, despite the enormous footprints she had left. I had been doing my
best to step in her wake when I snapped; one of my worst practices ever. Every pass was a shank,
either skidding off my arms, or dropping straight to the ground. With every pass, I felt myself
going into a deeper and deeper trance of utter desolation. After one more pass, I ran to my coach,
politely asking if I could step in the locker room while I vainly blinked the tears out of my eyes.
She nodded, and I ran to the locker room as fast as my feet could carry me. One step in, two, and
then a tidal wave of tears crashed over me. All the stress, pressure and distress I had been feeling
poured out of me in a loud, snotty mess. I cried, I cried, and I cried until I felt like all of the liquid
had been drained out of my body. And then I had thought about practice again, and the rainstorm
washed over again. Only did I stop when I heard the creaking sound of an opening door interrupt
my deep breaths and sniffles. Kendall Braate walked in, an already sympathetic look across her
face. She walked over to the bench underneath the lockers, and used her hand to beckon me over. I
took a few unbalanced steps over,

Explain How Sports Reflect Who You Are
Explain how sports reflect who you are.
I really really love sports, I really like to play and watch a lot of them. My 3 main ones are Soccer,
my favorite sport, basketball, and baseball. I love to follow all of them and play all of them. Soccer
is my favorite sport. I love to play soccer, I have played for 10 years and 2 seasons each year, so for
20 seasons. I like to play left Forward, that is my favorite. I play in El Paso and so does Charlie and
Wes. We all get along really well and it is fun to not be the only Eureka kid there. I have known El
Paso/Gridley kids for a long time but it is fun to have a few other Eureka kids there too. Charlie and
Wes each play midfield and they usually pass it up to me and then I cross it to Joey or Logan or
Cole and Goal! (Or vise versa.) But me and Charlie and Wes have became really really close friends
along with all the kids on our team. I also love to watch soccer sometimes too. My favorite team is
Chelsea and then in the FIFA World CupI am usually for Brazil or America. Me and sometimes
Caden and sometimes Dad will watch and I will be like "WOW, what a beautiful touch," and they
will be like, "Umm, ok." So, we do like to watch but mostly me. Basketball is my second favorite
sport. Me and our old neighbours and Caden used to love to go outside at our house and shoot, but
then they moved away and we have no other kids to play with. But a lot of times I will go over to
Connell's house and we will have like a 1 on 1 game pretending

I have not tried every sport there is to offer in my lifetime. But, I have tried quite a few. Throughout
the many PE and sports classes I have experienced over the years, these are some of my favorite
sports/activities. I will be talking about alpine skiing, gymnastics, soccer, and swimming.
To begin with, my favorite activity I have ever tried would be alpine skiing. Also known as ski
racing. You compete in disciplines such as, slalom, giant slalom, super giant slalom, and
downhill. Depending on your level of development and your age, that tells you what events you
compete in. There are many good and bad things about ski racing. For example, ski racing is a
very gear intensive sport. Which can add up to be a lot of money especially with all of the
traveling and lodging costs. You also have multiple pairs of skis that need to be tuned and waxed
with great exactness. Ski racing is also a very time consuming sport. You spend most of your
weekends and afternoons on the hill training. And when you're not skiing you are doing dryland
training to help you stay in shape all year round. But, there are many great...show more content...
Out of all of these sports I have talked about, swimming is probably my least favorite. I like
swimming for fun but swimming laps is not for me. The most popular swimming strokes are the
breaststroke, the backstroke, the butterfly, and the freestyle stroke. The equipment you need to
compete in swimming are, a swimsuit, goggles, a bathing cap (to keep your hair from getting in the
pool), fins, and kickboards. There are many great things and not so great things about swimming.
For example, there is no ground impact when you swim, so you protect your joints from stress and
strain. But spending time in an over–chlorinated pool is connected with certain health hazards, such
as asthma. In general, I will unquestionably spend time in the pool with my friends but I don't think I
will join the swim team anytime

Essay #1 – Explain how your favorite sport reveals who you are.
My first essay of this unit is about my favorite sport. The question for this essay was to explain how
your _________ reveals who you are. I decided to put my favorite sport because not only is it fun
but it is my favorite hobby also. My favorite sport is the amazing game of baseball.
I like it because it is the one sport that whenever I watch it on television I actually know who the
players are and I know the techniques of the players. Most of my family likes baseball. My dad grew
up always listening to the cubs games on the radio. Since a couple years ago I started to have a

In the summer it is about 80o and sunny and then at night it gets down to about the 50s or 60s. In
the winter it is about the same but at night it get down to about the 40s and 50s.
One fun thing that I like about San Diego is that it is really close to the ocean and also pretty
close to some really tall mountains. Then on a weekend we can go to the beach for half of the day
and then drive two hours and go snow skiing on the mountains. I also like the fact that it is perfect
weather all year around so then that means that I can play baseball anytime I want. Lastly it is a very
very good place to explore and go camping in the national parks and all of the mountains.
Some of the things that I care about in San Diego is that I am moving there this summer. There is
also always nice people and the land is really pretty. Most of all I care about the church. The church
is the whole reason that I am moving to San Diego because it is so small. Lastly some of the things
that I am interested in, in San Diego, is the camping, the mexican food, the beach, and hiking the
mountains.
Essay #3 – My families history.
My third third essay is about my families history. My family has a big family history. It all started
in the mid 1800s. My great great great great grandpa decided to come to the U.S.A. and he took his
family with him. I am pretty sure that he decided to settle down on a farm in Kansas.
They lived there for a long time

Why my Favorite Sport is Soccer
What is sport? Sport in as athletic activity requiring skills or prowess and often of a competitive
nature. My favorite sport is soccer. It is played by 250 million players in over 200 countries and
dependencies, making it the world's most popular sport. The game is played between two teams
of eleven players with a spherical ball on a rectangular field with a goal at each end. The object of
the game is to score by getting the ball into the opposing goal. In this essay i am going to write
about the history of soccer, my favorite soccer club and my favorite soccer player who is my role
model. The old form of soccer used to allow many ill practices like kicking, punching, biting and
gouging. The main aim was to carry the ball to a target spot. People grew so fond of the game
that they would throng the field all day long. Sometimes the competition grew fierce and masses
got so wild that there were frequent incidents of violence during the game. In 1815, a major
development took place that made soccer popular in Universities, Colleges and Schools. The
popular English School and Eton College came forth with a set of rules, known as the Cambridge
Rules. Football was segregated into two groups; some colleges and schools opted for Rugby rules
that allowed tripping, shin kicking and also carrying the ball. These rules were exclusively
prohibited as per the Cambridge rules. In October 1863, eleven representatives from London clubs
and schools met at the Freemason's Tavern to set up common fundamental rules to control the
matches amongst themselves. The outcome of this meeting was the formation of the Football
Association. In December 1863, the Rugby Football and Association football finally split as the
supporters of the Rugby School rules walked out. Firmly establishing the foundation of soccer in
1869, the Football Association strictly banned any kind of handling of the ball. When and where
exactly did soccer start is a question that has no precise answer to it. Soccer also known as football
was invented and most influenced by England but most of the early innovation came from scotland.
It was until 1872 when england played scotland at the very first international game when the first
revolution happened. In England

The most exciting thing was making the school proud every time we won a game. Some games were
tough but we always kept a positive mind and prepared ourselves for the next game. The most
powerful things about these two sports was the ability to make new friends and learn from one
another.
B.The main goal we wanted was to make our school proud. In the beginning of the season we all
established an individual and a team 's goal. Our individual goals were based on things we
wanted to accomplish during the season. We had a partner that would hold us accountable and
evaluate our progress. Each partner had to keep the other person accountable for accomplish
their own goal. Some of my teammates goals were developing new skills while others was just
wanted to get along with other team players. At the end of the day we all had to show progress
and keep working hard to achieve these goals. Our success was be united as one and become a
better team. I can say form experience that these two values go hand in hand because in a team you
always want to see progress and succeed in the thing you love doing. Competition is also a key value
because without I wouldn 't be able to push myself to achieve great things. We have to compete with
other teams and with one another to make ourselves stronger within the sport industry but, we also
have to stand out from our teammates without pushing them down. Success is the most

A forfeit it could cause your team to lose. You must also make sure your teammates aren't doing
anything stupid, because it reflects back on your team, your coach, your school, and your town.
What I love the must about this sport is that no matter what happens in the match its your
accomplishment whether you win or lose. No matter what happens out there on that mat, its
either your fault why you lost or your accomplishment when you win. The reason why is because
if you win the wrestling match, you're the reason why you won it; no one else, but if you lose, it's
your fault, and no one else to blame but yourself. There are times when you can lose by a point
and the ref probably made a mistake but you, as the wrestler, should've been doing more in order
to score on your opponent and get two points to beat your opponent. The feeling you get from
winning is probably one of the best feeling in the world if you ask any wrestler, but then that feeling
you get from losing is just awful, making you cry and hurt inside.
I can write about this sport all day honestly, and tell you why, I love it so much. To me, it will
always be one of the greatest sports in my opinion. Yes, it is a tough sport, but it just makes you
tougher too and makes you want to get better at it and achieve more in it. In the sport of wrestling

If you can imagine one thing and one thing only that can change a way a person feels, how they
think, and how they live, what would that thing be? For me I really couldn't answer that question,
as a little kid who's only thought was to have fun, all I cared about was playing video games and
watching cartoons. One day, my cousins came over to my house asking if they could watch
something on the TV, I said "sure," so they turned on the TV and put on a documentary. At first I
was disinterested and wanted to go back to my usual habits, but I stayed and watched, I realized that
the documentary contained the answer to my question and that answer was sports. Out of all the
sports, basketball became my guidance, it spoke to me in a way where it wasn't just an interest,

time I would watch every basketball game and practice my skills as a player. Watching NBA players

Throughout this vast country we as Americans are entertained by many different things,
including movies, music, and sports. Although, there are many ways for me to be entertained, I
prefer the enjoyment of sports. As a youngster I enjoyed playing backyard games. We rounded up
neighborhood kids and played for fun. We played either football or basketball every weekend.
These two sports are the favorites of those who play them around the world. While these sports
are alike in many ways, they are very different in other aspects. Although sports such as football

The offense of football is one unit that goes on the field to play against the opponents' defense.
When the offensive unit scores or turns the ball over, it goes to the sideline to await its turn to go
back out on to the field, and the same rules apply for the defensive unit. Football scores can be in
increments of one, two, three, and six points. They are scored by kicking a field goal after a
touchdown, tackling for safety, kicking a field goal in regulation play, running the ball into the
end zone. Football is played at a high speed with a lot of intensity. Basketball, on the other hand is
played inside on a court. There are only five players per team on the court at a time. Players have
to play both offense and defense simultaneously. The scoring in basketball is also different; points
can be scored in increments of one, two and three, these are scored by shooting the ball into a
hoop. Basketball is a game that is played by skilled people who can jump high, shoot well, and
have great ball handling skills. Playing basketball requires you to have to have endurance, because
running from offense to defense and back to offense requires you to be in great shape. Basketball
is played at a medium pace and can be very exciting and nail biting. To sum it all up, both of these
sports are equally exciting. They are both played with a lot enthusiasm and heart. Basketball and

How Softball Is My Favorite Sport
lauren kazanjian English 1 Level 2: blue expository essay 10 October 2015 Swing, hit, homerun!
Softball is my favorite sport. I love the excitement it brings me every time i smack the ball out of the
park. The game of softball was created on Thanksgiving day 1887, but did not become a NCAA
approved sport until 1910. (http://www.athleticscholarships.net/history–of–softball.htm) One person
that i look up to as a role model is Jennie Finch. She is one of the best softball players that has
played in the olympics multiple times. Not only did she just play in the olympics, but won a gold
medal in the 2004 olympics, and a silver medal in 2008. She started to love the sport when she
was young at age. She recognized the sport when she was a bat girl for the bruins baseball team.
From that moment on, she began to fall in love with the sport. Her first time playing softball was
around the age of five. Three years later, she started to practice as a pitcher. She wanted to work
her way up to be the best in softball. As years past, she reached her goal and before she knew it she
started playing in the olympics! ( http://usatodayhss.com/2015
/jennie–finch–playced–softball–recruiting Jennie Finch 's love for the game was as great as her love
for her family and friends. Her competitive nature was obvious from the start. She had great athletic
ability. She was the best on her team; faster, bigger, and stronger than most of them. Her arm was

My Favorite Sport Is Basketball
Basketball is my favorite sport because I remember at a very young age of about three or four
years old, in 1998, I first watched a National Basketball Association (NBA) game. I was watching
when the Chicago Bulls was playing as I sat in the living room with my father and my uncles. I
didn't know what they were talking about, but my eyes were glued to the television when I saw
Michael Jordan dunked on two people. His performance gave me the motivation and I started playing
basketball to make a career out of it. I wanted to move my family out of the poverty without any
financial worries so I stared practicing each day. Every day as I was on the basketball court
playing, I used to wake up early in the morning dribbled the basketball from my house to the
basketball court and into the park. I was about fourteen years old about to go to high school so I
was practicing to make the tryouts. It was the summer time like around July 2009 and at first, I
wasn't good enough so, I told my mother that I needed a couch to work on my feet and left hand.
She called one couch up and we had a one on one session to train me. After practicing, I went back
to the courts and played a full court game with older and bigger guys. It was five on five and I
was the youngest of them. I had a little jump shot, but I really had a back board shot. I was good
with angles for a little man at that time, but I was only getting better. I started challenging grown
men that were old enough to be my father. I lost some games, but won a lot plus my younger
brother was always there with me. He used to stay on the sidelines watching because he couldn't play
with me. Yet, he was too young at the time to...show more content...

Racism In Football Essay
My favorite sport is soccer that is also known as football in Europe and most of the parts of the
world. It is hugely popular game in the world and this is why it is the most played game of the
world and almost all the countries of the Europe have their own football leagues and the Barclays
premier league of England is the most widely watched league of all, even in the countries that don't
have a proper football setup and team like India and Pakistan. Other countries of different
continents also have their own leagues but that are not very much popular around the world. This
game has everything for people of all the age groups and that is why it is widely played, followed
and liked all around the world.
Football is one of the most ancient game of the world and there are proofs that this game was
played in one form or another in many old civilizations and this can be seen the portraits and
paintings of these old civilizations in which people were seen playing football and this is probably
the biggest reason due to which the game is very popular around the world and is played all around
the world and it has been transferred to each other through generations.
Problem:
There are some problems that can be associated with this game and the biggest one of them is
racism. Even after all these years and fight against racism the plague of racism has not been
completely removed from the game of the football and events of racism can be seen after every few
days. Few of the biggest names

Volleyball Is My Favorite Sport

  • 1. Tennis Is My Favorite Sport People have always said that sports are so great for anyone who struggle with drama filled lives, anxiety, depression and many more problems like this. They say this because sports occupies a portion of your time and and provide you with an escape you can't find anywhere else. When you're playing a sport, you're so focused on what you need to do in the heat of competition that nothing else in the world seems important. Because of that experience, I couldn't agree more with those people. Tennis is my favorite sport. I started playing in the seventh grade. When I'm playing, the experience is what I love. I love everything about it... the fresh smell of new tennis balls when you pop open the can, the hype before matches that get's the team...show more content... Everyone has good days and bad, life is full of plot twists and the unknown is always there to hit you; however, when I'm playing I don't worry about any of this. On that court, I'm only worried about me, my partner, and how we're going to fight for the win. Game day – Westfield The team dressed up in our best dresses to school on this day. None of us knew much about Westfield, so my friends and I did some research. We learned more about the school than we did whatever was being taught in that class. Westfield, a 3A school is located close to Indianapolis. Our thoughts were 'they're a big city school, they're most likely very good' in other words, we knew we were already done for. It was after school and we all made our way to the locker room to get ready, and prepare; actually meaning mess around. The atmosphere was like always, fun and vibrant, you could instantly feel the energy as soon as you walk in. We changed into our uniforms, put on our tennis shoes and talked about this unfamiliar school. None of us were too worried because of the fact that we were county champs, conference champs, sectional champs and overall a good, hard team to beat. After a while our bus had arrived and we all exited the locker room and some of us stopped to fill up our waters. Excited and jumpy we all made our way in and loud chatter soon filled the bus. If you were to get on the busses with us to away games, you'd think we're all crazy; we're out of out seats, standing up Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. My Favorite Sport: Football Sports are my favorite pastime and I truly enjoy playing and watching almost any sport, but one sport holds a special place in my heart, and that is football. Growing up football has been a part of my life and I don't think I could live without it. When I was younger, I played little league football for three seasons while I was in elementary school; during that time playing football I played two positions, cornerback and running back. Although we always had a losing record, I enjoyed playing every second of the seasons. After the end of my third season playing little league football I did not play the sport until my junior year in high school. During my junior year in high school I started playing football once again at Airport High School. After not playing football for so long I had forgotten how physically taxing it was and was not in the best shape to really play that well; throughout the season I thought about quitting because I was not conditioned enough and was not playing as much as I would have liked. My first year back into football was not my best season but I still adored playing and getting back into the sport I love. My senior year of football was by far my favorite season of football in my life. During the season, I had my most memorable play, which was an interception that I took back for a touchdown, it is my most sentimental memories of football. All the brotherhood and chemistry built with team over my senior season brought us to an 11–2 record and a Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. My Favorite Sport Of Volleyball We've all had to answer this question before, what's your favorite thing? We can answer that pretty easily because it's something that's special to us. Whether it's playing or watching your favorite sport or having a favorite stuffed animal, it's something that we will always cherish. There are multiple reasons why that favorite thing is important, and we will never forget them. The rush of adrenaline you get right when your feet hit that court is like nothing else. That's why my favorite thing is the sport of volleyball. I have played this sport from a young age so it has been all I have ever known. The sport is unique because it incorporates skills that you must practice over and over to become perfect at. The team atmosphere is something I love about the sport. The feeling that the other five teammates on your side of the net have your back. This sport is impossible to succeed at if only one player isn't committed to the whole team goal. That's why team–bonding comes into play on and off the court. I remember having team dinners the night before every game. I would sit by my teammates talking about the game we had tomorrow, while eating loads and loads of that ooey gooey mac and cheese. My team would also do secret–sister before games. I would pick another player on my team to get me some quick snacks. I would then write her a note giving her encouragement for the game the next day. When I read the note from my teammate it was the best feeling in the whole world knowing that my friend had confidence in me to play my best game. Not only were the girls on my team an inspiration to me but also the coaches that sat on the sideline during every match, and every practice. My coaches through my 9 years of volleyball have taught me an enormous amount of lessons. My coaches became mentors for the sport I love but also for life. I was taught many lessons from my coaches over the years that could be used for later on. For example, when I was playing on my club volleyball team at 12, I remember struggling to serve the ball over the net. My coach told me that I wasn't going to be perfect at that skill the first time I tried it. It would take multiple practices in the gym to meet my goal. That was a lesson I Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. My Favorite Sport For as long as I can remember, I have been an athlete. That was my identity from the day I was old enough to play sports. I started out doing gymnastics when I was three years old and then added soccer a year later. In elementary school, I added basketball and tennis to the mix. In 7th grade I tried field hockey and lacrosse. By the time high school came along, I had decided that field hockey would be my main sport and I would play collegiately. I loved field hockey more than I loved most people. I played for hours every single day. My typical day consisted of waking up, going to school, playing field hockey, and going to bed. Sure, I was involved in some clubs and I did well in school, but most people knew me as the field hockey girl. On...show more content... All of the hard work I had put in finally paid off. Fast forward to the fall of my freshman year of college, I was thriving. I ended up starting as a freshman, and was so proud to be able to call myself a student athlete. Every time I put on my uniform I was overcome with an intense wave of pride. From the moment I stepped on campus, I was instantly labeled as an athlete. Everything I did at college revolved around field hockey. I scheduled my classes around field hockey, I went to field hockey practice, I ate meals with my team, I lived with my team, and I wore clothes that publicized my status as an athlete. Just like in high school, I was known as the field hockey girl. By the time I prepared to leave for my sophomore year, something had changed. I no longer smiled uncontrollably as I drove up to the field hockey field. I started checking my watch every five minutes counting down the minutes till practice was over. I no longer got butterflies in my stomach on game day. I no longer cared. I lost interest "the way you fall asleep; slowly and then all at once." I started questioning why I was even playing field hockey. I debated quitting, but I couldn't. I couldn't disappoint the people around me. So many people had put time and energy into helping me get to where I was. Everyone was constantly telling me how proud they were of me. I was constantly reminded of the fact that I was an athlete and that was how everyone saw me. By the time my sophomore season came to Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Volleyball Is My Favorite Sports The chorus of whistles, cheers and volleyball's pounding against the ground filled my ears as I watched my opponent dribble her routine against the floor. One, two, three hits against the floor, a spin in her hand, a deep breath in. She tosses the ball up in the air, and my body automatically moves in the direction her body is facing. I watch the ball hit her hand with solid contact, and how it moves to our side of the net; no spin. The ball sails toward the back end of the court, my feet move into the familiar drop step position. However, my feet don't move fast enough, I'm forced to take the ball outside my body. It skids across my arms, and moves further to the back line. Despite the obvious effort my teammates put in to reach the ball...show more content... Once again, it had paid off; I had been named libero, the first starting freshman libero since Kendall. While it felt like a weight was lifted off my shoulders, another one was loaded on. I had to fill Kendall Braate's shoes, despite the enormous footprints she had left. I had been doing my best to step in her wake when I snapped; one of my worst practices ever. Every pass was a shank, either skidding off my arms, or dropping straight to the ground. With every pass, I felt myself going into a deeper and deeper trance of utter desolation. After one more pass, I ran to my coach, politely asking if I could step in the locker room while I vainly blinked the tears out of my eyes. She nodded, and I ran to the locker room as fast as my feet could carry me. One step in, two, and then a tidal wave of tears crashed over me. All the stress, pressure and distress I had been feeling poured out of me in a loud, snotty mess. I cried, I cried, and I cried until I felt like all of the liquid had been drained out of my body. And then I had thought about practice again, and the rainstorm washed over again. Only did I stop when I heard the creaking sound of an opening door interrupt my deep breaths and sniffles. Kendall Braate walked in, an already sympathetic look across her face. She walked over to the bench underneath the lockers, and used her hand to beckon me over. • 6. Explain How Sports Reflect Who You Are Explain how sports reflect who you are. I really really love sports, I really like to play and watch a lot of them. My 3 main ones are Soccer, my favorite sport, basketball, and baseball. I love to follow all of them and play all of them. Soccer is my favorite sport. I love to play soccer, I have played for 10 years and 2 seasons each year, so for 20 seasons. I like to play left Forward, that is my favorite. I play in El Paso and so does Charlie and Wes. We all get along really well and it is fun to not be the only Eureka kid there. I have known El Paso/Gridley kids for a long time but it is fun to have a few other Eureka kids there too. Charlie and Wes each play midfield and they usually pass it up to me and then I cross it to Joey or Logan or Cole and Goal! (Or vise versa.) But me and Charlie and Wes have became really really close friends along with all the kids on our team. I also love to watch soccer sometimes too. My favorite team is Chelsea and then in the FIFA World CupI am usually for Brazil or America. Me and sometimes Caden and sometimes Dad will watch and I will be like "WOW, what a beautiful touch," and they will be like, "Umm, ok." So, we do like to watch but mostly me. Basketball is my second favorite sport. Me and our old neighbours and Caden used to love to go outside at our house and shoot, but then they moved away and we have no other kids to play with. But a lot of times I will go over to Connell's house and we will have like a 1 on 1 game pretending Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Is My Favorite Sport I have not tried every sport there is to offer in my lifetime. But, I have tried quite a few. Throughout the many PE and sports classes I have experienced over the years, these are some of my favorite sports/activities. I will be talking about alpine skiing, gymnastics, soccer, and swimming. To begin with, my favorite activity I have ever tried would be alpine skiing. Also known as ski racing. You compete in disciplines such as, slalom, giant slalom, super giant slalom, and downhill. Depending on your level of development and your age, that tells you what events you compete in. There are many good and bad things about ski racing. For example, ski racing is a very gear intensive sport. Which can add up to be a lot of money especially with all of the traveling and lodging costs. You also have multiple pairs of skis that need to be tuned and waxed with great exactness. Ski racing is also a very time consuming sport. You spend most of your weekends and afternoons on the hill training. And when you're not skiing you are doing dryland training to help you stay in shape all year round. But, there are many great...show more content... Out of all of these sports I have talked about, swimming is probably my least favorite. I like swimming for fun but swimming laps is not for me. The most popular swimming strokes are the breaststroke, the backstroke, the butterfly, and the freestyle stroke. The equipment you need to compete in swimming are, a swimsuit, goggles, a bathing cap (to keep your hair from getting in the pool), fins, and kickboards. There are many great things and not so great things about swimming. For example, there is no ground impact when you swim, so you protect your joints from stress and strain. But spending time in an over–chlorinated pool is connected with certain health hazards, such as asthma. In general, I will unquestionably spend time in the pool with my friends but I don't think I will join the swim team anytime Get more content on HelpWriting.net

The question for this essay was to explain how your _________ reveals who you are. I decided to put my favorite sport because not only is it fun but it is my favorite hobby also. My favorite sport is the amazing game of baseball. I like it because it is the one sport that whenever I watch it on television I actually know who the players are and I know the techniques of the players. Most of my family likes baseball. Since a couple years ago I started to have a bunch of my friends and uncles over to play baseball for my birthday and that started to...show more content... In the summer it is about 80o and sunny and then at night it gets down to about the 50s or 60s. In the winter it is about the same but at night it get down to about the 40s and 50s. One fun thing that I like about San Diego is that it is really close to the ocean and also pretty close to some really tall mountains. Then on a weekend we can go to the beach for half of the day and then drive two hours and go snow skiing on the mountains. I also like the fact that it is perfect weather all year around so then that means that I can play baseball anytime I want. Lastly it is a very very good place to explore and go camping in the national parks and all of the mountains. Some of the things that I care about in San Diego is that I am moving there this summer. There is also always nice people and the land is really pretty. Most of all I care about the church. The church is the whole reason that I am moving to San Diego because it is so small. Lastly some of the things that I am interested in, in San Diego, is the camping, the mexican food, the beach, and hiking the mountains. Essay #3 – My families history. My third third essay is about my families history. My family has a big family history. It all started in the mid 1800s. My great great great great grandpa decided to come to the U.S.A. and he took his family with him. I am pretty sure that he decided to settle down on a farm in Kansas. It is played by 250 million players in over 200 countries and dependencies, making it the world's most popular sport. The game is played between two teams of eleven players with a spherical ball on a rectangular field with a goal at each end. The object of the game is to score by getting the ball into the opposing goal. In this essay i am going to write about the history of soccer, my favorite soccer club and my favorite soccer player who is my role model. The old form of soccer used to allow many ill practices like kicking, punching, biting and gouging. The main aim was to carry the ball to a target spot. People grew so fond of the game that they would throng the field all day long. Sometimes the competition grew fierce and masses got so wild that there were frequent incidents of violence during the game. In 1815, a major development took place that made soccer popular in Universities, Colleges and Schools. The popular English School and Eton College came forth with a set of rules, known as the Cambridge Rules. Football was segregated into two groups; some colleges and schools opted for Rugby rules that allowed tripping, shin kicking and also carrying the ball. These rules were exclusively prohibited as per the Cambridge rules. In October 1863, eleven representatives from London clubs and schools met at the Freemason's Tavern to set up common fundamental rules to control the matches amongst themselves. The outcome of this meeting was the formation of the Football Association. In December 1863, the Rugby Football and Association football finally split as the supporters of the Rugby School rules walked out. Firmly establishing the foundation of soccer in 1869, the Football Association strictly banned any kind of handling of the ball. When and where exactly did soccer start is a question that has no precise answer to it. Soccer also known as football was invented and most influenced by England but most of the early innovation came from scotland. It was until 1872 when england played scotland at the very first international game when the first revolution happened. In England Get more content on HelpWriting.net

In the beginning of the season we all established an individual and a team 's goal. Our individual goals were based on things we wanted to accomplish during the season. We had a partner that would hold us accountable and evaluate our progress. Each partner had to keep the other person accountable for accomplish their own goal. Some of my teammates goals were developing new skills while others was just wanted to get along with other team players. At the end of the day we all had to show progress and keep working hard to achieve these goals. Our success was be united as one and become a better team. I can say form experience that these two values go hand in hand because in a team you always want to see progress and succeed in the thing you love doing. Competition is also a key value because without I wouldn 't be able to push myself to achieve great things. The common injuries you can get from wrestling are an ankle sprain, wrist sprain, overtraining syndrome, muscle soreness, a fractured finger, and dehydration. Some of the serious injuries are concussion, neck sprain, shoulder sprain and shoulder dislocation, and a torn anterior cruciate ligament. You can even tear all four cruciate ligaments in your knee. You must also make sure your teammates aren't doing anything stupid, because it reflects back on your team, your coach, your school, and your town. What I love the must about this sport is that no matter what happens in the match its your accomplishment whether you win or lose. No matter what happens out there on that mat, its either your fault why you lost or your accomplishment when you win. The reason why is because if you win the wrestling match, you're the reason why you won it; no one else, but if you lose, it's your fault, and no one else to blame but yourself. There are times when you can lose by a point and the ref probably made a mistake but you, as the wrestler, should've been doing more in order to score on your opponent and get two points to beat your opponent. The feeling you get from winning is probably one of the best feeling in the world if you ask any wrestler, but then that feeling you get from losing is just awful, making you cry and hurt inside. I can write about this sport all day honestly, and tell you why, I love it so much. To me, it will always be one of the greatest sports in my opinion. Yes, it is a tough sport, but it just makes you tougher too and makes you want to get better at it and achieve more in it. In the sport of wrestling you will go through some bumps down the road but it'll make you a better person, as well. • 14. My Favorite Sport Essay If you can imagine one thing and one thing only that can change a way a person feels, how they think, and how they live, what would that thing be? For me I really couldn't answer that question, as a little kid who's only thought was to have fun, all I cared about was playing video games and watching cartoons. One day, my cousins came over to my house asking if they could watch something on the TV, I said "sure," so they turned on the TV and put on a documentary. At first I was disinterested and wanted to go back to my usual habits, but I stayed and watched, I realized that the documentary contained the answer to my question and that answer was sports. Out of all the sports, basketball became my guidance, it spoke to me in a way where it wasn't just an interest, but a window of discovering who I am, what I love, and what I want to become. In that window of time I would watch every basketball game and practice my skills as a player. Watching NBA players give their hearts out to the game of basketball brought me joy as well as the confidence and determination to play and improve my skills to be just like them. My favorite player was Kobe Bryant because he would play every game at the highest level he could play at and he had a killer work ethic that a person would only dream of having. I would set an alarm at 10 a.m. to wake up and start practicing because all I wanted was to be the best at something that means so much to me. I think I spent the majority of the run in a trance state just me staring at his feet which felt like ages when in reality it was only 2 minutes. After overtaking him though, I started thinking about how crazy the human body is and again my body went into autopilot and my mind just started running through random scenarios that will never occur in real life and countless of retarded ideas like why do people color the sun yellow when if you stare at it it's a giant white ball when you stare at it. I wasn't the first in my family to love running either. My mom used to be a track star when she was around my age in Mexico where she would participate in Mexico's cities and regional championships. She was a sprinter however while I am a long distance runner. It is through her that I believe my talent and my passion for running comes from. Although my mom has never been to one of my meets, I always keep her in mind when I run, sometimes even when my mind reaches that meditative phase. The closest thing I can compare it to is when you would go for a really long bike ride and you get so engulfed by your environment, your body just automatically begins to pedal Get more content on HelpWriting.net

When the offensive unit scores or turns the ball over, it goes to the sideline to await its turn to go back out on to the field, and the same rules apply for the defensive unit. Football scores can be in increments of one, two, three, and six points. They are scored by kicking a field goal after a touchdown, tackling for safety, kicking a field goal in regulation play, running the ball into the end zone. Football is played at a high speed with a lot of intensity. Basketball, on the other hand is played inside on a court. There are only five players per team on the court at a time. Players have to play both offense and defense simultaneously. The scoring in basketball is also different; points can be scored in increments of one, two and three, these are scored by shooting the ball into a hoop. Basketball is a game that is played by skilled people who can jump high, shoot well, and have great ball handling skills. Playing basketball requires you to have to have endurance, because running from offense to defense and back to offense requires you to be in great shape. • 19. My Favorite Sport Is Basketball Basketball is my favorite sport because I remember at a very young age of about three or four years old, in 1998, I first watched a National Basketball Association (NBA) game. I was watching when the Chicago Bulls was playing as I sat in the living room with my father and my uncles. I didn't know what they were talking about, but my eyes were glued to the television when I saw Michael Jordan dunked on two people. His performance gave me the motivation and I started playing basketball to make a career out of it. I wanted to move my family out of the poverty without any financial worries so I stared practicing each day. Every day as I was on the basketball court playing, I used to wake up early in the morning dribbled the basketball from my house to the basketball court and into the park. I was about fourteen years old about to go to high school so I was practicing to make the tryouts. It was the summer time like around July 2009 and at first, I wasn't good enough so, I told my mother that I needed a couch to work on my feet and left hand. She called one couch up and we had a one on one session to train me. After practicing, I went back to the courts and played a full court game with older and bigger guys. It was five on five and I was the youngest of them. I had a little jump shot, but I really had a back board shot. I was good with angles for a little man at that time, but I was only getting better. I started challenging grown men that were old enough to be my father. I lost some games, but won a lot plus my younger brother was always there with me.
