Brace yourself for a trek to the spectacular Stok Kangri Trek.
http://www.thrillophilia.com/tours/stok-kangri-climb
This is just perfect for the newbie mountaineers to conquer 6000m as it does not comprise technical climbs to make it to the high altitude.
Stok Kangri is located in the surreal location of Ladakah that enchants with black and white scenery with streaks of blue and grey. The experience is not without its difficulty as you would have to tackle the thin air of high altitudes. Taking this into consideration, you will be given adequate time to get acclimatised.
The activity will span over 9 days and the maximum altitude you will encounter is 6153m. Thrills include passing over a glacier, ascending lengthy sections and manoeuvring vertical elevations. Once on top, you are rewarded with views of Ladakh range, Zanskar range, Indus valley and Leh City.
3. Day 1: Arrival at Leh and Acclimatisation
This refreshing day, arrive at Leh. Check-in to your hotel
and relax. Sip on tea/coffee.
Do note, since it is very important for you to get
acclimatised in order to have a healthy journey, the first
three days will be reserved for the same.
Overnight will be spent in hotel

monasteries around Leh like Shey and Thiksey.

7. This refreshing day, you venture out to Khardung La.
Perched at 5600m, it is a high motorable pass. Spend
some time here that will help you to get used to thin air
altitudes.
When here, witness great sights and go trigger happy.
Come evening and you will be given an orientation on the
trek by the lead guide.
Overnight will be spent in hotel
Day 3: Leh - Khardung La -Leh

and 5 you set off to Stok Kangri.
On day 4, post a short drive, reach Stok Village and tour
the palace and gompa. Post which, you commence the
hike through Hemis National Park. It will take you around
5-6 hours to reach the base camp.
In the course of the two days, you will ascend from the
campsites for altitude gain following the simple principle
of acclimatisation which says 'climb high - sleep low'.
Overnight for both the days will be spent in tents.
10.
11. Day 06: Base camp - Stok Kangri(6153m) - Base Camp (4900m),
(Trek/10-12 hours)
From the basecamp, begin super early (around 2am).
Your head lamps will show the trail for some hours till the
sun rises. From the start there is a steep ascend to the
ridge just above the camp, the rest of the trek will
continue in a similar manner.
The last stretch is very steep and the thin air adds to the
challenge. Once on top, you can set your eyes on
Karakoram and Ladakh range to the north, the Zanskar
Range to the west and a bird's eye view of the Indus
valley and the Leh city.
Savour the moment of conquering a 6000m+ peak . The
climb to the top will take anywhere between 6 to 8 hours

person has not acclimatised well.
