The student created a poster and radio advertisement to promote their documentary. For the poster, they edited a still image from the documentary footage by adding stage lights and changing the color of ballet shoes. For the radio ad, they used voiceovers and sound bites from the documentary along with additional recorded parts and information about when the documentary would air. Both the poster and radio ad reference the title and air time of the documentary to link the promotional materials together and drive viewers to watch the documentary.
2. Poster
This image we used for the
newspaper advertisement is taken
from a video clip that we used in our
documentary, we used the export
tool in adobe premier to export the
video as a still image. We did this as
we thought the image and the
documentary would work well
together. We decided that we
should edit it image as channel 4
poster ad’s are usually quite
abstract, we added the image of the
stage lights that we also used in the
text on the title screen in the
documentary over our original
image, and changed the colour of
the ballet shoes from pink to black
to make them stand out from the
lights.
3. Radio-Ad
For our radio add we used a mixture of sound bites
from the voice over on the documentary and also
recorded extra parts that we thought where
missing or would work better in the radio-ad. We
also added the time, date and what channel our
documentary would be shown on as there is no
visuals on a radio ad. We also used vox pops that
where included in the documentary to add a public
opinion to our radio advert.
4. Our radio advertisement and a poster
link together because they both
are made by taking clips or still
images from our finished
documentary. They also link
together because they both state
what time, day, and channel that
the documentary will be shown
on. The name of our documentary
links to the newspaper
advertisement and radio advert as
the title is clearly shown or said
on each of them. This is so the
audience can link each of the
things together.
5. This is our newspaper
advertisement and the one below
is an actual channel 4
advertisement, we tried to make
these look as similar as possible
because we thought this would
make it look more professional. As
channel 4 have quite abstract
images for their newspaper
advertisements we decided that
we would edit our original image
using Photoshop to make it fit in.
