2. Introduction
• A NUCLEAR REACTOR is a device used to initiate and CONTROL
a fission nuclear CHAIN REACTION or nuclear fusion reactions
• The heat produced by nuclear reactor is used for the propulsion ship
or submarine
• Water is heated to produce steam which turns turbine used to run the
ship’s propeller
