SmallGEO-FLEX
OHB System AG is the third European prime system integrator for a wide range of satellites.
In the field of Telecommunications, OHB and its partners have designed and developed the SmallGEO product line
of highly efficient geostationary satellites.
OHB has tailored the SmallGEO platform to the specific needs of Earth observation (EO) and laser communication
applications and provides exceptional high pointing stability including a very low micro-vibration environment to
those unique customers.
This creates space-based solutions with high performance at an attractive cost and delivery schedule.

Heritage + Benefits Configurations
From Satellites to Turn-Key Solutions
OHB System AG’s SmallGEO Product Line are 3-axis-stabilized
geostationary satellites with very high pointing accuracy, adapt-
able for telecommunications and Earth observation missions.
The design-life-time is 15 years. High fuel-efficiency configura-
tions, owing to hybrid (FAST) and full electric propulsion (FLEX)
allow for potential mission life time extension.
System
SmallGEO offers full compatibility with the entire spectrum of
frequencies used for telecommunications in the P, L, S, C, X, Ku,
Ka Bands. Additionally, optical laser communications terminals
are covered.

Launcher Compatibility
OHB System AG’s telecommunications satellites are designed to
allow the selection of launch providers including the most recent
and very cost-effective developments on the global market.
Among these are: Ariane 5, Falcon 9, Proton, Atlas V.
Depending on the respective customer needs OHB System AG
offers delivery of custom-made satellites and additional ele-
ments including launch service, in-orbit services, and satellite
and network operations. Turn-key solutions enabling the cus-
tomer to create new communications services without further
dependencies are also part of OHB’s portfolio.
