6. Noah and the Great Flood
ā¢ The earth was corrupt in Godās sight and
full of violence
ā¢ God said to Noah āI am going to put an
end to all people, for the earth is filled
with violence because of them. I am
surely going to destroy both them and
the earth.ā
ā¢ God ask Noah to build an ark to house
the animals and 8 members of Noahās
family because God will send rain for
forty days to flood the earth, to cleanse
the earth
ā¢ When the flood finally subsided, there
was a rainbow and God made a Noahic
covenant with all the people never to
destroy the earth again
7. Abraham and Isaac
ā¢ God commanded Abraham to leave the land of idolatry and He will
show him the way. Abrahamās journey led him to the land of Canaan or
known as Palestine today
ā¢ God promised Abraham a son and Sarah gave birth to Isaac at an old
age of 90
ā¢ God then asked Abraham to sacrifice Isaac to prove his faith to God
ā¢ Abraham obeyed but God said to Abraham āDonāt lay your hand on the
youth!ā he said. āDonāt do anything to him, because Iāve just
demonstrated that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son,
your only unique one, from me.ā
ā¢ After God spared Isaac and Abraham saw the ram caught in the bush he
called the place āThe Lord will provideā.
8. Joseph and Israelites
in Egypt
ā¢ Pharaoh had a dream and no one could interpret it except
Joseph
ā¢ Pharaoh believed Joseph and made him second in command to
manage the land and the produce
ā¢ Seven years of bounty harvest followed by seven years of
famine, and everyone went to Egypt to buy grains during the
famine
ā¢ From here many people settled in Egypt and flourished
ā¢ Then came a Pharaoh who didnāt regard Joseph well decided
to oppress the Israelites and made them slaves in Egypt

Israelites from Slavery in Egypt
ā¢ Moses was born to Levi couple and the woman put him in a papyrus
basket and floated him down the river Nile
ā¢ Moses was picked up by the Pharaohās daughter while bathing in the
river and raised him
ā¢ God appeared to Moses in the burning bush and asked Moses to liberate
His people from slavery in Egypt
ā¢ Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt and parted the sea for the Israelites
to cross
ā¢ The people turned to idolatry and subsequently God gave Moses the ten
commandments
ā¢ God made the Mosiac covenant with the people
10. King David and King
Solomon
ā¢ King David was son the Jesse who was a descendant of Judah and was a
descendant of Jacob(later named as Israel) who was the son of Isaac
who is the son of Abraham
ā¢ David was faithful to God and kept the ark in the middle of the city to
remind the people of God
ā¢ God promised David that he will have a everlasting kingdom and he will
have a son
ā¢ Later Solomon built the first Jewish temple in Jerusalem and put the ark
in the centre to remind people that God is the centre of life
ā¢ Solomon was good but later become corrupted worshipping pagan
gods. Israel became weak and later became divided and was later
conquered by the Babylonians and the Jews were taken into exile from
Israel

Christ

can pass him by showing the human side of Him
ā¢ Jesus was betrayed by Judah Iscariot and was sentenced to death
by Pontius Pilate
ā¢ The death of Jesus Christ who is fully divine and fully human pay
in full for all our sins
ā¢ He delivered justice and mercy at the same time through
His death on the cross
ā¢ Salvation is made possible by the grace God ā it is only by
His grace that we are saved, salvation cannot be earned
ā¢ When God spared Isaac somewhere around 2000 BC, 2,000 years

18. Resurrection of Jesus
Christ

Christ. A faith believed and lived as the central truth by the

20. Ascension
ā¢ 40 days after his resurrection, Jesus ascended to
heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father
ā¢ This final stage stays closely linked to the first, that
is, to His descent from heaven in the Incarnation.
Only the one who came from the Father can return
to the Father: Christ Jesus. Only Christ can open to
man such access that we, His members, might have
confidence that we too shall go where He, our Head
and our Source, has preceded us. CCC 661
22. Pentecost
ā¢ On Pentecost the Holy Spirit descended on the apostles as
promised by Jesus to support them in their proclamation of
Godās work
ā¢ Very clearly the better to signify the gift of the Holy Spirit, an
anointing with perfumed oil (chrism) was added to the laying
of hands. Christian means the anointed one CCC 1289
ā¢ Receiving your confirmation completes your second anointing
and it signifies the participation of the one baptized in the
prophetic, priestly and kingly office of Christ. CCC 1291
24. The Preaching of Peter
and the Apostles
ā¢ With empowerment from the Holy Spirit, Peter and
the apostles preached profusely and caught the
attention of the Sanhedrins
ā¢ In reply, Peter said to them āJesus is āthe stone
you builders rejected, which has become the
cornerstoneā.ā
ā¢ They performed miracles and healed many people

Communities
ā¢ Acts 2:42 ā They devoted themselves to the apostlesā
teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and
to prayer.

ā¢ So the early church sold their property and possessions

28. Persecution
ā¢ Acts 5:17 ā Then the high priest and all his associates, who were
members of the party of the Sadducees, were filled with jealousy

the end said this ā āYou stiff-necked people! Your hearts and ears are still
