At what point did the idea of a Virtual reality arise, and how did augmented reality develop? In this presentation we bring you closer to what really happened, and we can see more closely the opinion of Francisco Rolando Archila Dehesa.
2. ¿How did the fever about the Vitual Reality
started?
3. Virtual Reality is one of those
concepts that have been exploited to
the maximum in general knowledge,
mainly in movies and animations, but
that really has not achieved the reach
that it can have.
Today, in 2018, it seems that finally
the task of so many promises made
in the 90s, the promise of entering a
new virtual world, is achieved.
4. How does this happen?
With the arrival of a close cousin that just a few years
ago began to develop, we talked about augmented
reality. One goes hand in hand with the other, but it is
necessary to differentiate them before establishing
their relationship and the changes they have made to
current technology.
6. Virtual reality aims at the creation of a parallel
environment, a virtual one, where a user can see
and perceive stimuli that really do not exist in
the sensory world. The main tool that allows this
interaction is the peripheral component, mainly
the world famous virtual reality lenses.
7. Large entertainment empires such as
Playstation, HTC and Oculus are investing large
sums of money in developing powerful virtual
reality lenses. Through them, the user sees and
experiences a whole world designed specifically
for their needs or desires, such as a movie that is
actively lived. The most pleasant experience is to
be able to experience this virtual world at 360
degrees, which allows the adaptation of motion
sensors.
8. Among the wide range of opportunities offered,
the main investor is the world of video games.
Every gamer looks for new experiences, more
experiences and immersive experiences that
allow him to really immerse himself in the world
he plays. Even so, the high monetary investment
that implies to have a virtual reality equipment,
does not allow to live the experience completely.
All the entertainment companies that market
gaming consoles, still do it adapted mainly to a
traditional 2D screen.
10. The close cousin we've been talking
about. The augmented reality was
born on the path of development of
virtual reality, enjoying tremendous
commercial success.
11. Really its objectives do not pretend so much scope as
those of the virtual reality, since it is a technology that
integrates virtual elements in the real world.
12. It works the other way, you could say. However, this
unification has been able to have even greater
commercial reach than its older cousin, providing social
networks with all kinds of gadgets and emojis that
allow modernizing the experiential experience. You only
need to have a good Smartphone, the use of networks
like Instagram or Snapchat and you can already enjoy
the augmented reality through fun "Stories" to fantasize
that the real world and the virtual world are unified.
13. "The human being constantly finds himself in the
search to improve his experiential world. There is a
desire to seek in another reality what can not be
achieved in the present. This gives facilities to the
technological world to develop tools that allow to unify
the imagination, creativity and human logistics through
fun experiences. Mainly the educational area can
benefit from the joint use of these two technologies. "
