UNIVERSITY OF NEBRASKA LINCOLN (NE) GLOBAL
SCHOLARSHIPS
The University of Nebraska–Lincoln, chartered in 1869, is an educational
institution of international stature. Today, the university is one of the
nation's leading teaching institutions, and a research leader with a wide array of grant-funded
projects aimed at broadening knowledge in the sciences and humanities. With nearly 150 majors
and specialized programs of study to match any interest area, the opportunity for hands-on

MONMOUTH COLLEGE (IL) INTERNATIONAL STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS
Monmouth College is a selective, private, residential liberal arts college of 1260
students and 97 faculty in west central Illinois. It offers courses in the sciences,
humanities, social sciences and arts (popular majors include computer science,
communications and public relations, psychology, chemistry, physics,
environmental science, international business and accounting).
Monmouth College has a longstanding tradition of welcoming students from every part of the world.
The College accepts applications at any point throughout the year. There is no application fee, and
admitted students are automatically considered for academic merit scholarship awards. SAT or
ACT scores are helpful in the admissions review but are not required.
The College's merit-based financial assistance ranges from approximately $18,000 per year up to
$21,000 per year (total assistance over four years averages $76,000). All scholarships are
renewable for each year of the student's college career (up to four years in total, given good
academic standing) - these are not one-year scholarships. The scholarships are partial tuition
waivers.

MARYVILLE COLLEGE (TN) MERIT BASED SCHOLARSHIPS
International Student Scholarships for undergraduate study at Maryville
College. Maryville College has a strong scholarship program for
international students and most of our international students receive a
scholarship.
Average Scholarship Range: $10,000 - $20,000 per year, many available
Top Scholarship: Full-tuition scholarship ($30,410 for 2014-15), one per year
Scholarships are based on academic performance and potential, as determined by school records
and/or test scores, the admission essay, non-academic activities, leadership and achievements. To

for interest in Maryville College, and an explanation of their need for scholarship funding.

UNIVERSITY OF OREGON (OR) INTERNATIONAL STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS
The University of Oregon is an institution where students, faculty members, and
employees from a wide variety of backgrounds share a commitment to preserving
the environment and pursuing innovation in more than 260 academic programs. The
university awards over one million dollars in scholarships to UO international
students each year. Tuition, cash and work-study awards are available. Selection is
based on financial need and academic merit.
International Cultural Service Program (ICSP): ~10 - 20 tuition scholarships ranging from $6,000 $20,000. (Cultural service requirement for recipients.)
International Dean’s Excellence Award (IDEA): Partial tuition scholarships based on academic merit
ranging from $6,000 - $8,000. (Awarded to new students only based on GPA. No application
necessary.)
International Affairs Endowed Scholarships: ~20 cash scholarships ranging from $1,000 - $10,000.
(Some scholarships are country-specific.)
International Student Work-Study Program: ~80 - 100 work-study awards ranging from $500 $3,000. (On-campus employment is required.)

SYRACUSE UNIVERSITY (NY) SCHOOL OF MUSIC OFFERS NEW YORK CITY
IMMERSION EXPERIENCE
The Gilbert Week: NYC Seminar for Music Professions is a one-week field trip that
allows sophomore music majors to meet with arts professionals and visit performing
arts institutions, as well as learn about a wide variety of career opportunities in music.
Music programs have thrived at Syracuse University since 1877, when SU became one of the first
universities in the United States to grant music degrees requiring four years’ study in both music
and theory. Today, the Setnor School of Music continues this tradition of innovation by offering
undergraduate and graduate degree programs that prepare students for 21st-century music careers.
Setnor students pursue degrees in composition, conducting, performance, music education, and the
music and entertainment industries. Off-campus opportunities include performances and field
experiences in Central New York; internships in London, Los Angeles, and New York City; and a
semester abroad in Strasbourg, France.

NORTHERN STATE UNIVERSITY (SD) CELEBRATES CULTURE
AND DIVERSITY
Dance, food, and a wealth of culture took over the Barnett Center on
November 1st, 2013 at Northern State University's third annual
Culturefest.
From the Middle East to Europe, Asia and American Indian heritage, the celebration of cultures
included traditional dances and performances on the main stage surrounded by booths offering food,
drinks, art, clothes, and other items from different parts of the world.
"We want to show Aberdeen all the different cultures we have here," said Shlomit Oren, who is of
Israeli and Columbian descent. "All the students here, we are neighbors with each other and we may
not even be aware of all the beautiful countries we come from and all the culture we have to share,"
she said.
A crowd gathered to taste authentic German chocolate and apple and plum flavored kuchen.
Carmen Arndt of Magdelburg, Germany, is taking 15 credits at NSU and studying translation at her
home university.

UNIVERSITY OF COLORADO, DENVER (CO) OFFERS BACHELOR'S
IN TEACHING, LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT
CU Denver to offer Bachelor’s Degree in Teaching, Learning and Development
Undergraduate students seeking to major in education can now earn their bachelor’s at the
University of Colorado Denver. The four-year, 126-credit-hour, interdisciplinary Bachelor of Arts
(BA) in Teaching, Learning and Development program has three areas of study: early childhood
education (birth through age 8), elementary education (ages 5 – 12) and special education (ages 5 –
21). The new program will be offered in a hybrid format with both in-class and online courses.

  • 2. MONMOUTH COLLEGE (IL) INTERNATIONAL STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS Monmouth College is a selective, private, residential liberal arts college of 1260 students and 97 faculty in west central Illinois. It offers courses in the sciences, humanities, social sciences and arts (popular majors include computer science, communications and public relations, psychology, chemistry, physics, environmental science, international business and accounting). Monmouth College has a longstanding tradition of welcoming students from every part of the world. The College accepts applications at any point throughout the year. There is no application fee, and admitted students are automatically considered for academic merit scholarship awards. SAT or ACT scores are helpful in the admissions review but are not required. The College's merit-based financial assistance ranges from approximately $18,000 per year up to $21,000 per year (total assistance over four years averages $76,000). All scholarships are renewable for each year of the student's college career (up to four years in total, given good academic standing) - these are not one-year scholarships. UNIVERSITY OF OREGON (OR) INTERNATIONAL STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS The University of Oregon is an institution where students, faculty members, and employees from a wide variety of backgrounds share a commitment to preserving the environment and pursuing innovation in more than 260 academic programs. The university awards over one million dollars in scholarships to UO international students each year. Tuition, cash and work-study awards are available. SYRACUSE UNIVERSITY (NY) SCHOOL OF MUSIC OFFERS NEW YORK CITY IMMERSION EXPERIENCE The Gilbert Week: NYC Seminar for Music Professions is a one-week field trip that allows sophomore music majors to meet with arts professionals and visit performing arts institutions, as well as learn about a wide variety of career opportunities in music. Music programs have thrived at Syracuse University since 1877, when SU became one of the first universities in the United States to grant music degrees requiring four years’ study in both music and theory. Today, the Setnor School of Music continues this tradition of innovation by offering undergraduate and graduate degree programs that prepare students for 21st-century music careers. From the Middle East to Europe, Asia and American Indian heritage, the celebration of cultures included traditional dances and performances on the main stage surrounded by booths offering food, drinks, art, clothes, and other items from different parts of the world. "We want to show Aberdeen all the different cultures we have here," said Shlomit Oren, who is of Israeli and Columbian descent. "All the students here, we are neighbors with each other and we may not even be aware of all the beautiful countries we come from and all the culture we have to share," she said. A crowd gathered to taste authentic German chocolate and apple and plum flavored kuchen.
