Habakkuk Climbing Out Of The Dip
1.
2. Week 1 HABAKKUK—1
WHERE ARE YOU, GOD?
How long, O LORD, must I call for help, but you
do not listen? Or cry out to you, quot;Violence!quot; but
you do not save? Why do you make me look at
injustice? Why do you tolerate wrong? Habakkuk
1:2-3
3. Week 1 HABAKKUK—1
WHERE ARE YOU, GOD?
6 I am raising up the Babylonians, that ruthless and
impetuous people, who sweep across the whole
earth to seize dwelling places not their own. 7 They
are a feared and dreaded people; they are a law to
themselves and promote their own honor. 8 Their
horses are swifter than leopards, fiercer than
wolves at dusk. Their cavalry gallops headlong;
their horsemen come from afar. They fly like a
vulture swooping to devour; 9 they all come bent on
violence… Habakkuk 1:6-9
4. Week 1 HABAKKUK—1
WHERE ARE YOU, GOD?
O LORD, are you not from everlasting? My God, my
Holy One, we will not die. O LORD, you have
appointed them to execute judgment; O Rock, you
have ordained them to punish. Your eyes are too
pure to look on evil; you cannot tolerate wrong.
Why then do you tolerate the treacherous? Why
are you silent while the wicked swallow up those
more righteous than themselves?
Habakkuk 1:12-14
5. Week 2 HABAKKUK—2
In The “DIP”
WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN YOU’RE IN THE DIP?
•LISTEN
I will stand at my watch and station myself on the ramparts; I
will look to see what he will say to me… Habakkuk 2:1b
•WRITE
Then the LORD replied: quot;Write down the revelation and make
it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it.
Habakkuk 2:2
•WAIT
For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the
end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will
certainly come and will not delay. Habakkuk 2:3
6. Week 3+ HABAKKUK—3
Climbing out of the “DIP”
A prayer of Habakkuk the prophet.
LORD, I have heard of your fame; I stand in
awe of your deeds, O LORD. Renew them
in our day, in our time make them known;
in wrath remember mercy. Habakkuk 3:2
7. Week 3+ HABAKKUK—3
Climbing out of the “DIP”
1. REMEMBER WHAT GOD HAS DONE.
God came from Teman, the Holy One from Mount Paran.
Selah His glory covered the heavens and his praise filled
the earth. Habakkuk 3:3
His splendor was like the sunrise; rays flashed from his
hand, where his power was hidden. Plague went before
him; pestilence followed his steps. He stood, and shook
the earth; he looked, and made the nations tremble. The
ancient mountains crumbled and the age-old hills
collapsed. His ways are eternal. Habakkuk 3:4-6

2. ACCEPT WHAT GOD IS DOING.

Climbing out of the “DIP”
3. TRUST WHAT GOD WILL DO.
Yet I will wait patiently for the day of calamity to come on the nation
invading us. Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no
grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields
produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle
in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will be joyful in God my
Savior. Habakkuk 3:17-18
The Sovereign LORD is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet
of a deer, he enables me to go on the heights. Habakkuk 3:19

12. Habakkuk Wrap-up
• Realize that God’s solutions are usually
different that ours , and that at times may
involve unfathomable means.
• View difficulties as opportunities to grow in
our relationship with Christ.
• Take time to listen, remember and wait for
God. Be obedient to his biding.
• Pray for Gods people that they will repent and
abide in Him.
13. Habakkuk Wrap-up
1 Peter 1:14-19
14 As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you
had when you lived in ignorance.
15 But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do;
16 for it is written: quot;Be holy, because I am holy.quot;
17 Since you call on a Father who judges each man's work
impartially, live your lives as strangers here in reverent fear.
18 For you know that it was not with perishable things such as
silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life
handed down to you from your forefathers,
19 but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish
or defect.
14. Faith is not just the entrance into the Christian life, the
means whereby we receive God's grace, faith is the
proper posture of the Christian toward God throughout
this age. This does not preclude any manifestation of
God's presence and glory as He chooses, it does
preclude making the presence of these a requirement
for Christian spirituality, worship, or security.
