One common problem in e-learning projects
is to establish a common “language” with
the client.
Even this part is not usuallyreferred inthe
e-Learning literature asa problem, but my
experience saysthat it is!
And a major one, if you donot have the
experience to identify it and resolve it
quicklyand efficiently by establishingchannels
of “trust” with the client!
Trust is allabout e-Learning (asinbusiness
ingeneral)!
Your client, trust you for delivering value
to his company and his/her people!
He or she trusts you that you should identify,
the main performance’s “bottlenecks” of
his/hers company operations
He/she expects thatyou willfind the proper
solution (bye-learning, training,coaching,etc.)
to his/her problem!
This have created an irregular growth, that
have to be “normalised”, in order the company to be fully competitive
This interaction is aninterplay of trust!
Is NOT just training or e-Learning!
It is, a strategic allianceof freely associated parties providing mutual trust
and value to each other!
In the e-Learning area sometimes, you should start from the ground up and
buildon “what is there”!
Some companies and organisations have been developed responsively to
the market conditions, without following a master “blueprint“!
In this operation, e-Learning is adisruptive agent,
able to smooth out the edges, and develops a
more pro-active position towards the market!
Thisis not an easy procedure and you have to
map carefully “what’s there” and the how you
are going to route it towards the desired
business direction!
The procedure, involves close cooperation with
allthe involved agents and stakeholders before
the actuallearning process, before any
learning procedure have takenplace.
But this phase (acallitthe“mutualacceptance”
phase) is one of the most important for an
e-Learning project!
Without this phase, trust should not be builded
among the two parties, the communication
would be stalledand nothing wouldbe move
forward with anease.
That’swhy it isimportant for you to establish a
common vocabulary in order to facilitate clarity
to your communication and to your actions!

Establishing Common Language Key to E-Learning Project Success

  • 2. One common problem in e-learning projects is to establish a common “language” with the client. Even this part is not usuallyreferred inthe e-Learning literature asa problem, but my experience saysthat it is! And a major one, if you donot have the experience to identify it and resolve it quicklyand efficiently by establishingchannels of “trust” with the client!
  • 3. Trust is allabout e-Learning (asinbusiness ingeneral)! Your client, trust you for delivering value to his company and his/her people! He or she trusts you that you should identify, the main performance’s “bottlenecks” of his/hers company operations He/she expects thatyou willfind the proper solution (bye-learning, training,coaching,etc.) to his/her problem!
  • 4. This have created an irregular growth, that have to be “normalised”, in order the company to be fully competitive This interaction is aninterplay of trust! Is NOT just training or e-Learning! It is, a strategic allianceof freely associated parties providing mutual trust and value to each other!
  • 5. In the e-Learning area sometimes, you should start from the ground up and buildon “what is there”! Some companies and organisations have been developed responsively to the market conditions, without following a master “blueprint“!
  • 6. In this operation, e-Learning is adisruptive agent, able to smooth out the edges, and develops a more pro-active position towards the market! Thisis not an easy procedure and you have to map carefully “what’s there” and the how you are going to route it towards the desired business direction! The procedure, involves close cooperation with allthe involved agents and stakeholders before the actuallearning process, before any learning procedure have takenplace.
  • 7. But this phase (acallitthe“mutualacceptance” phase) is one of the most important for an e-Learning project! Without this phase, trust should not be builded among the two parties, the communication would be stalledand nothing wouldbe move forward with anease. That’swhy it isimportant for you to establish a common vocabulary in order to facilitate clarity to your communication and to your actions!
