3. Repair Leaking Cracks
The first step to repairing a leaky basement is to repair cracks in the basement walls and floor, cracks
around doors and windows, cove seam cracks and gaps around tie rods and pipe penetrations.

Hydrophobic Polyurethane – You want to use this type of repair kit to repair actively wet and
leaking cracks, and all cracks that have at one point let in water. If you have a dry crack that lets in
water when it rains or when snow melts, that means the crack goes completely through the wall. A
surface repair won’t stop water. You need to use a hydrophobic polyurethane repair kit that will
repair the entire crack – from the soil up into the basement. This kit can be used to repair wall and
floor cracks, large and small.
Polyurea – You want to use a flexible polyurea (Armor JFX35) to repair expansion joints, saw cuts
and cold joints. The polyurea will repair the crack and allow for slight movement without losing its
bond.
Urethane – you want to use a rigid urethane (Armor FS90) repair floor cracks that are dry and have
never leaked. This urethane will provide structural support to the floor in the area being repaired.

4. Seal the Walls & Floor
Next, you want to seal the walls and floor using the Armor S2000 concrete
sealer. The Armor S2000 will fill in the pores with a crystalline barrier
designed to stop water and moisture through densification. The S2000 will
increase the strength of the concrete by 45% and help to increase the life and
performance of the concrete.
• If you concrete floor has water or moisture issues or if you plan on
covering the concrete with flooring (tile, wood, carpet, paint) you want to
use the Armor S2000 sealer. If your concrete floor will be exposed or
polished, and the floor has a greater need for chemical resistance and
densification, you want to use the Armor L3000 sealer.
