AI Recruitment: The Next Generation of HR
As the demands of the market grow, companies are placing greater emphasis on the people
they hire. With its newfound importance, HR needs to innovate, grow and evolve to match these
changing needs. A major contributor to a high-performance culture and achieving targets,
investing in HR will allow the business to attain the required results with specialized tools and a
definable strategy.
HR Technology has quickly risen to become a necessity to remain competitive and encourage
the best companies to succeed. By implementing HRIS (Human Resource Information
Systems), HR can collect, collate and communicate information along with administrative task
much easier and faster.
Impact on HR
Nowhere are the effects of HR tech made more obvious or adopted faster than in the
recruitment and selection process. Technology is a great way to relieve the stress and repetition
of tedious activities. Recruiters can use cost-effective strategies to find candidates, search and
onboard much quicker and simplify recruitment practices. Current AI recruiting tools deal more
with machine learning than computers making their own decisions. However, these machine
learning tools are enabling the use of AI to come to more accurate hiring decisions.
Increasingly hard to overlook, HR managers are expected to employ AI to find quality talent and
streamline processes. Like many industries, AI uses predictive data, analytics and other tools to
give companies an advantage over more traditional methods of sorting through data.
Here are some of the areas that AI and automation are transforming the HR workplace:
 Recruitment: Often a lengthy process, hiring activities benefit greatly from AI through
automatic communications notifications, parsing resumes and tasks being set for further
actions.
 Onboarding: The processing, signing and verification of documents when a new hire is
onboard can be easily automated.
 HR chatbots: Online chatbots are becoming more familiar in the workplace to make the
initial user experience better and simpler for employees.
 Attendance: Mistakes can be avoided while Maintaining timesheets and processing
payrolls as AI can perform such calculations much more efficiently.
 Requests: Automated processes allow leave requests to be checked and approved in a
more efficient manner.
 Learning: AI helps personalise online courses and training material to individual skills,
and act as a virtual coach to deliver feedback, analyse progress and advise upon the
next steps to be taken.
Recruitment Automation
As an HR leader, figure out the value of your time and invest in technology to speed up your
hiring process while improving the quality of your candidates. Signs already point to artificial
intelligence (AI) being the future of recruitment and sourcing. While there exist many solutions to
enhance the recruitment process faster, these are some of the benefits that are afforded by
automation.
Resume Parsing
AI and machine learning tools help recruiters with time-consuming tasks like examining CVs.
This is done by picking out candidates who match keyword and experience criteria that the
recruiter is on the lookout for. However, qualified candidates can sometimes lose out on an
opportunity by describing their positions without using keywords.
Maintain a Pipeline
An unfulfilled position can result in a loss of money, effort and missed opportunities. Using AI,
hiring managers can plan for various situations, receive feedback from superiors and adjust the
algorithm to find apt candidates. Not only is it faster, but there are fewer gaps in
communications as well.
Focus on Human Interaction
With AI and machine learning saving valuable time, recruiters can focus on the human element
of the hiring process. Much more than merely scheduling interviews and going through
resumes, HR can engage with candidates, form connections, and find out the best person for
the company through human interaction. Proper use of each tool allows HR to pick a candidate
who perfectly aligns with their requirements, be it skills, experience, expertise or cultural fit.
Identify Potential Candidates
With candidates waiting in your pipeline, you can afford to be reactive and hire the best talent
whenever the need arises. AI can scan thousands of resumes and multitask to identify potential
candidates, even passive ones, which is especially useful in hard-to-fill positions.
Future of HR Automation
The future of recruitment might be hard to predict but automation continues to play an ever-
larger role. Great strides have been made but people are still very much necessary to the
functioning of the workplace. Relying on technology, hiring managers will have to develop a
more specific set of skills including interpreting statistics, data-based decision-making and
testing out different scenarios. The consistency of the results have made it clear that AI and
automation have a definite place in today’s HR workplace but its nascency also means that the
future possibilities are limitless.
